Lakers back to the old slow lineup that cant shoot squat from the outside. Metta at 3, Pau at 4, when at this point in their careers should be played up one position to make up for their lack of agility.
Thought this was already figured out, why are the Lakers reverting?  |
This is good news, not only is MDA not going to attempt to play Earl Grant at PF but he's also not benching Clark.

Beal is probably their best scorer. Not having him is a big loss for the Wizards. Okafor being out is huge too because they mostly have undersized big men. |

Probably because Earl Clark has come back down to earth lately (6 - 15 FG last 2 games), he hasn't been shooting that well to be kept over Pau in the starting line-up. |
Earl's been playing hurt. He hasn't been taking a lot of shots, only 2 to 6 per game. Shooting around .400.
I look for Pau and Dwight to play well together tonight. Both low, Kobe, Nash and Blake will keep the defense honest.
Offense's not out bane it's defense. If we don't defend I don't care who we play, we'll struggle. |
Pau with the starters on offense has proved to be a little odd to say the least, but I mainly was referring to Clark's benefit on the defensive end. Granted hes been missing rotations a bit lately, but for the most part he's still miles better than Pau at any of the forward positions.
Something i heard in some Dwight interviews today was that he's going to stay focused on boards and rim protection, while Pau focuses on the offensive end.
You think this could mean perhaps Pau will play center while Dwight power forward? much like how Ibaka plays the 4 yet still provides some good weakside defense when needed? I would love this if it were to happen, and it could explain MDA's willingness to let Pau start if he were to have figured out something new strategically? |
