The best place to go for Asian food is Hawaii. There mixed Asian population, so there is quite a variety of food. Chinese, Japanese, and Korean food are well represented. The best part is that once you are done eating, you will also find you are in Hawaii. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. For Dim Sum you should check out Empress Pavilion in Chinatown http://losangeles.citysearch.com/profile/16587/los_angeles_ca/empress_pavilion.html. Bring all your friends, the more people, the more dishes you can try. Great authentic Chinese food. Make sure to try the roasted duck, it's really delicious. When you get the bill, you'll be surprised how low it is. It will help if one of your freinds speaks Mandarin because the cart ladies don't speak English, so you might order something that you may not like (cow stomach or chicken feet, for example). |

Twin Dragon. Hands down the best Chinese food in LA. Pico Blvd. about a block West of La Cienega. Everything is good but try the Aromatic Chicken. |

Sounds like chicken sprayed with air-freshener. _________________ NBA referees are a detriment to the integrity and essence of the game of basketball. Thugnomoe wrote: | sushi in LA isn't that great...you gotta go to a good fishing town for that..where the fish is beautifully fresh. There's no way LA can match NW places like Vancouver B.C. I've had amazing tuna, tuna belly or fatty tuna, salmon that just melts in your mouth..my uncle and I ate 'til we were going to explode for under $40 total.
In LA, its all about the rolls.. which means sauces dressed up all fancy..which is fine..but if you want sashimi...Vancouver B.C. VERY NICE! |
You're joking right? I've tried sushi in San Francisco, NY, HK, and even Japan, and from my experience, LA is up there. May not be the best, but it's far from being "isn't that great." Los Angeles has some of the best sushi places in the U.S. man! _________________ NBA referees are a detriment to the integrity and essence of the game of basketball. pho is thin rice noodles in beef broth with mint and sprouts.
i found the "blue hen" in eagle rock to be delicious - it is owned by vietnamese people and is all organic! i think it has excellent vibes: a mix of hipness (with local artist' paintings on display for sale) and warm family attention. where else can u get authentic pho/vietnamese food?
im gonna add another (vital) question to the thread...where can i get GOOD indian food?? |
I haven't tried REAL Indian cuisine yet, but where is "Blue Hen" at in Eagle Rock? _________________ NBA referees are a detriment to the integrity and essence of the game of basketball. Try the food at Noodle World in Alhambra, The Boat and Banana Bay in Rowland Heights. The Boat and Banana Bay are a block away from each other. Those resturants have variety of Asian foods. Good food. I eat there a lot. Go there sometime. |

I always pick the beef ball noodle soup. I never ate Viet food in O.C. I always eat Viet food in the San Gabriel, Monterey Park or Rosemead area. |
