Wow what a game. Lakers up big early, only to give it back and go down big late in the game, only to fight back and win on the impossible (for almost every other NBA player) shot by Kobe.
Always nice to rip the heart out of the Boston Celtics (and their fans) with last second heroics.
With this game behind them, on to Memphis on Monday and head back home without any more injuries.
BTW, thanks for the recaps DB. _________________ "Just show up ready to work, ready to play, Have your big boy pants on, leave your diaper at home." Kobe Bryant
Anything less than a championship is a failure. Period.
Dead Leprechauns indeed. May they go into another 20year funk before reaching another NBA Finals.
The Lakers had to really dig down deep to pull this one out. Nothing pretty about it, but sweet nonetheless.
Kobe had to redeem himself with that last shot. I thought he played poorly, too much individual play, not enough ball movement. The team had such a difficult time making the entry pass to him that he forced shots with the clock low. But I had no doubt that he would hit the game winner.
Big time play by Bynum and RonRon. Bynum's best game of the year. He was such a tower of strength that it really makes you wonder why Phil sat him so long in the 2ndQ and why he got so few touches in the 2nd half. RonRon set the tone, never backed down, and made 2 huge plays in the end. Even with replay, I can't figure out how he made that little flip in the lane.
Strange thing about the end of game play. Rondo was their best player the entire day (and has been the entire season so far), right? So Doc Rivers takes him out for the final play with the game on the line? He had KG, Ray, PP, House & Sheed on the floor. I thought that was a huge lack of confidence in their all-star PG.

he's not the first and he won't be the last
thanks DB. I have to admit, I was a little concerned with Kobe taking the last shot cause he'd been 'off' most of the game. but Kobe did what Kobe does and made it. I didn't understand why Rondo wasn't in the game for the final play, I was pretty sure the play would've been drawn up for him.

Thanks DB! The coolest part for me is that I have a granddaughter who was just born on Sunday. I will always be able to tell her that on the day she was born the Lakers beat the Celtics by 1 point. It doesn't get any better than that!
