During the Summer, Ebanks succeeded playing off the ball, with high energy, and with his shooting. Caracter had the offense run through him. Ebanks played the role he would play on this team and succeeded in it. Caracter played the Gasol role, a role he would never play on this current Lakers team. It always made complete sense from a basketball standpoint. |
I think alot of us who thought it'd be the other way around were looking at it from a depth chart point of view.
With Bynum's injury, it looked like there would be good minutes for Caracter to fill in to share with Pau/Lamar. Ratliff is something like 37 or 38 years old. 4 guys to share 96 minutes and Caracter could have eaten up Theo's minutes too....if he played better.
While at SF, it's 3 guys sharing 48 minutes so there are fewer minutes to go around. |
Let me clarify. Caracter is more likely than Ebanks to get minutes in the regular season because of the depth chart issue. However, Ebanks was always the player who was more "NBA ready." It's just unfortunate that he's stuck behind so many SFs. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service
