I predicted we would lose this game when I saw it on the calendar a few weeks ago. Several factors are going against us. Second game of a back to back and our 5 core older players played heavy minutes tonight, Kobe, Fish, Pau, Artest and Odom. Our roster is very thin without Bynum, Blake and Barnes traveling for his game. (Caracter might be recalled from Bakersfield for this game). Couple that with a young athletic Kings team that has been playing well the last several games and they are fully healthy. Also this could be the last game at ARCO arena and they're fans are going to be extra juiced up and motivated to beat LA. They're bigs Dalembert and Cousins are playing well and so are they're guards with Evans, Udrih and Thornton. Of course I hope I am wrong and we win this game. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Doesn't feel like the Lakers are playing to lock down seeding anymore. Otherwise, tonight's game probably should've been a blowout. This effort level may have been enough to scrap by the Spurs 2nd/3rd unit, but against a young Kings team possibly playing their last game in Sactown...I'm skeptical.
Worst case scenario, Lakers get the 3 seed with the loss tomorrow, but it feels like the team is OK with that, based on how they're playing. Honestly, at this point, bigger worry is Bynum, Barnes, and Blake's health going into the playoffs. |

None of those players give a (bleep) about Sacramento. Tomorrow is will be a sad day for the NBA. Moving that team out of Sacramento is extremely stupid. And the Maloofs are jerk offs. |

Do I understand the situation correctly?
a. We have already lost HCA against Miami, no matter what happens tonight
b. We have already won HCA against Boston, no matter what happens tonight
c. We have already won a higher seed than Oklahoma, no matter what happens tonight.
d. IF we lose and IF Dallas wins, we could potentially drop from 2nd seed to 3rd seed, which would mean we play Portland (instead of NO or Memphis) in the first round and lose HCA if we play Dallas in the second round.
e. If both we and Dallas win, or if both we and Dallas lose, we keep 2nd seed.
Is that right? |
