Not exactly the best game for the Lakers, but it did the job. Little better D kept the Hornets from going crazy scoring, but Lakers offense (while sharp at times) also had it's moments of stagnation, which isn't surprising when Pau can't get anything going. Still a big question mark on when he'll break out of this slump, but if Bynum can beast like this, and LO showing why he's the reigning 6th man, perhaps they can get away with it for now. Came out and did what they need to do, but real test is seeing what they do in Games 3 and 4 on the road. |

kobe removed from ariza to defend chris paul. Ariza goes off... any legitimate perimeter defender on this team other than kobe? |

Hilarious post. But seriously, he still has one? |
It briefly showed up on the one time he rebounded with both hands. |

Artest... The only problem is the Lakers needed Artest to help battle for rebounds since their "power" forward/center decided to have a sex change before the series and now wants to be named Pauline. |

Ron and Kobe are still a good defensive wing tandem, it's the PG position where we get burned in which both Ron and Kobe are no longer properly equipped to defend effectively, they do a decent job none the less. And in the case of this series, with Kobe guarding Paul which is a much more difficult cover than the Westbrook and Rondo (Rondo and Westbrook you can sag off of, Paul you can't), Kobe gets worn out which affects his offensive game. |

Bynum has been active so far this series. He just stayed out of foul trouble in this game. Even though he had 6 fouls, he picked them up at a steady pace.
That 6th man award seems to have buoyed LO's spirits in this game. Blake coming back has also given the 2nd unit a better sense of identity with the Killer Bee's in full force.
Kobe did an adequate job on CP3. Blake was better, but he comes off the bench, so Kobe was our best starter to do it. I think it zapped some of his energy on offense. _________________ I Recommend VLC Player: http://www.videolan.org/ |

Great game from Odom and Bynum. Now imagine if both Kobe and Pau can show up in the same game. |

That was my prediction, so I agree with you. Only now I think we will see a win in 6. |
The (bleep) of this whole thing is because the Hornets and Sonics had dip (bleep) for owners, the Lakers have to essentially travel almost east for those series. They need to finish the Hornets off in 5 so they dont have to fly back and forth AGAIN after they go to NO for 2 games. |

Hmm Ariza clearly decided to drive hard tonight which is the reason he got it going. And if you watched most of Ariza's makes were tough shots. Nothing you can do. The defense on Ariza was fine. Ariza was left open on the perimeter all night and he chose to drive all night. The Lakers bigs did a great job contesting at the rim. Props to Ariza for making tough shots I hope the same defense is played on him in the next 3 games. |

Are you blind? You think CP3 didnt have a good game because he felt like not having a good game? Kobe contained him the entire game. Taked away those (bleep) ref bailouts, CP3 had one runner and free throws for 48 min. And it was because of KB24 guarding his ass all game... |

Kobe or Pau can shoot 20% all series long. It doesn't matter. As long as the Lakers play defense and win. Who cares. |

I'm not sure if it was much of Ariza's length or anything, but I do give him props for defending Kobe well on a few possessions, but from observation throughout this season, Kobe has a lot of games where he digs himself 'Out of a hole', which he wasn't able to do tonight because taking only 10 or 11 shot attempts, had he gotten his usual 20 attempts we 'might' be looking at a 8/20 possibly 10/20 game.
His Portland games come to mind when I was thinking of this example. Shot like garbage beginning of the game, came back shooting hot at the end. Kobe just wasn't looking for a shot tonight, of course, all in my opinion.

Why is Rambis on the post game show? Think maybe he's the next coach? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I dont see how anyone can say that Kobe didn't show up. Not showing up and not have a good game shooting wise is different. _________________ "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships."

Major props to our Small Forwards tonight. We don't win without their scoring.
Matt a perfect 4-4 from the field for 8 points 4 rebounds and 2 steals in 12 minutes.
Ron 16 points in game 1 and 15 tonight. Ron is bringing the scoring so far this series.
Along with Drew and Lamar pretty much our scoring for the game. |

Well fellas, how did my magic work tonight?
Few things:
-Andrew is an absolute beast and took over the scoring load for the bigs/team. Nice little jumper
-LO definitely showed why he's 6th man...crowd gave big standing O before tip-off.
-Ron Ron with another all around consistent game and hit the clutch 3 pointer to ice it.
-Barnes best game back
-Having Blake back made a significant difference guarding CP3
-Kobe looked determined to facilitate tonight and focused on defense instead.
-CP3/Hornets with some serious bailout calls
-Refs took away the flow of the game for most of the time
-I was up cheering, yelling, screaming, and booing.
-Fans around me were cheering, yelling, screaming and booing.
-Staples was loud and I couldn't hear LT at times. |
