Seriously this happened?

No it didn't. More delusion from upset Laker fans. Kobe and Howard were still on the court.

He took out Kobe and Blake for Duhon/Meeks, I think. It was the last 2 minutes of the 3qtr. and he gambled buying rest for them.

The point is, Kobe and Howard were on the court when the lead went up to 16 points. No reason to blame Mike's rotation.

Gasol was subbed when the score is 76-79. So, there were 3 starters out (Nash, Gasol, and Meta).

Bryant Substitution replaced by Meeks at 01:5 when the score was (81-76). So you try to be cherry pick by 2 more points.

So no Gasol, no Bryant, no Nash, no Meta. That was nearly no starters when the score was reachable.

Howard was subbed out when the score was 76-88 (this is a 12points lead when Howard was the sole starter).

We saw Howard and Kobe (our only 2 that can lead the offense) back in when the score was 98-71 (17 points lead) in the 4th quarter.

So no, we didn't have Gasol, Kobe, and Howard or even Kobe and Howard together during that horrid stretch. MB remains to be blamed.

I kept getting this hopeless feeling whenever LA would get the ball and face up on Gasol.

We get killed. Early on, portland will have a 20 point lead on us. Both teams empty benches during garbage time and we end up losing by about 10 points.

YOU said Mike Brown took out all the starters when the game was within three points. Based on the actual game, the few of the starters were in the game when it was within three points.

Fact: Mike Brown didn't take all the starters out when the game was within three points.

When Mike Brown took out the last starter Howard with 48 seconds left because he had four fouls.

Howard Foul: Offensive (4 PF) 00:48.9
Howard Turnover : Foul (2 TO) 00:48.9
Howard Substitution replaced by Sacre 00:48.9
Aldridge Substitution replaced by Jeffries
Sacre Foul: Shooting Block (1 PF) (2 FTA) 00:39.1

Lakers 76
Portland 88

That's a 12 point lead.

Nash was out with an injury.
Gasol needed rest to start the fourth quarter, which he did.
Kobe needed rest.
Metta had 4 fouls.

Kobe left the game 01:51 left in the third quarter.
Howard fouled Pavlovic
Pavlovic made his first free throw
Pavlovic missed the second and gets his own rebound and the basket.
The lead is 9 points.

They were down 6 when Kobe left, but that small sequence at the free throw line made it 9.

Fact is, this wasn't Mike Brown's fault. You have to find some time to rest your starters, and this was obviously not a bad time to do it.
