other key games: HOU [AT] BKN, SAS ( a t ) GSW
I think it could go 3-0 for us tonight.

As much as we talk about catching Houston the team that we might catch might be the warriors. They are losing games at a rapid rate right now. Lakers need to get go on a 10 plus game winning streak.

We still don't know if our team can do that yet. They have yet to prove it so far. Last game was great, but can they keep it up?

You are right consistency is the key, but this team was originally projected to be in the hunt to win a championship. A team that is supposed to be in the hunt to win a title should be able to go on a long winning streak like that. To me it will come down to them believing they can or not and playing hard every game.

Lakers have 2 games remaining against the Warriors, have beat them twice this year already so if they take those 2 they need to make up 4 in the loss column

#Blazers vs #Lakers preview:

* The home team has prevailed in each of the last seven games in this series.

* Portland’s 102-98 loss to Phoenix on Tuesday was its sixth straight defeat, which is the longest active losing skein in the league.

* The Lakers’ 113-99 win over Boston on Wednesday was their ninth victory in the last 13 games overall, and the seventh in their last nine home games.

* Dwight Howard has averaged 26.5 points and 14.0 boards in his last four games against the Trail Blazers.

* In the loss to the Suns on Tuesday, J.J. Hickson (25), Damian Lillard (24) and LaMarcus Aldridge (23) all had 20+ points; it was the 10th game this season in which three Blazers had done so, which is the second-most such games in the league (Warriors – 15).

* In his last eight games versus the Lakers, Aldridge has averaged 23.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals.

Morris covered Lillard really well last time we played Portland. I wonder if Dantana will make a defensive adjustment if he goes off.

Reminder.... the POWER OF EARL did not yet get into the rotation in our Dec. 28th victory

I think he'll do a great job keeping a body on Aldridge or Hickson.

This. Lillard is super-talented - If we dare put Nash on him, he will destroy us. Portland knows how important this game is for their playoff hopes as well and will want revenge for the last game. Just have to hope that we don't have a let-down game, after the emotional one against Boston.

dwight is the key. we can talk about our bench and all that, but if dwight can play like the dwight of old, our top-heavy stars of bryant/howard/nash/gasol can muscle us into the playoffs and hopefully knock off SAS in the 1st round like memphis did in '11

If Maynor doesn't get here in time for the game then the Blazers have a more scrub ridden and inept bench then we do. Howard must play smarter and avoid those silly fouls so LMA and Hickson don't go crazy. Hopefully Kobe gets to man up on Lilard while keeping up a balanced offensive attack while conserving energy to play defense against the likely ROY.

I'm hoping that he's not there so Lillard will basically play almost all 48 minutes and be tired by the 4th (if the game's close)
