Yep.

And I've found it very interesting how much stock people have put into the overall salary number so far. We'll see how it plays out.

Not that I ever do well at these kinds of things, but now you people have me questioning my pick.

Nothing wrong with the Magic pick.

If Magic is anything less than a top 4-5 guy in this sim, then it's a pretty worthless simulation.

He was one of the top 4-5 players in the league when we did this last time.

I've tried joining the sim site and there is absolutely nothing i can find about player rankings. I wasn't planning on worrying about it too much, but if the rankings are different from reality then i probably need to see them before making a pick.

***COMMISSIONER'S NOTE***

For some reason, George Mikan's 1951 & 1952 seasons aren't included on WIS. This makes his 4th best season the 1956 season, which was by far his worst year as a pro. His '51 & '52 seasons were arguably his two best seasons.

As a result, I will be simulating Mikan based on his second best season.

Once again, where exactly are they finding this information?

There's a note in the first post on how to research players on WhatIfSports. The overall salary number is a rough equivalent to an overall rating.

Well duh! I got down to whatifsports on your intro, and didn't even see you had more info farther down. Oops!

Still not sure how to navigate though. Am I correct in the assumption that I can pull up any team in any year, but i can't pull up any lists by rank?

Did you go through the steps that are outlined in that first post? If so, what screen are you on? You can rank players in a variety of different ways.

Yup. I'm on a screen that shows my salary (42,000,000) and picks (none) and has a drop down list of teams and years. If I use that, I can pull up stats for that year, but then I have to use the back function on my browser to even get back to the list. No rankings. No salaries listed when i pull up a team and year.

Hit the "click to draft" button in any of your 12 slots. This will take you to a new page with more comprehensive sorting abilities.

For a second I thought you are drafting Chris Anderson.

I liked him and couple other players here...but needed a guy who can bully little guards.

I'm on step 5. How do I join our league? Is there a league Id or something similar?

You don't have to "join" our league on WhatIfSports. That whole process is there just to give you access to research players on their site, if you so choose.

I'd encourage players to try to draft the best "real life" team they can think of, as opposed to trying to draft a fantasy team, but I wanted people to be able to research players on WIS if they chose to.

Take your time with your pick. I apologize for not PMing you and giving you a heads up. Don't feel rushed.
