We're all losers. Pio2u and Chronicle you're our only hope or someone new.

Still thinking about doing the Heat game next week. We will see how that turns out.

Plus, we move the ball fine. Our defense just sucks and guys are adjusting to a different role with Kobe. Once we get Blake/Farmar back and guys get used to the pace with Kobe/Pau being the focus, the PPG on offense will go back up. We're not gonna go all year avg'ing under 100ppg with Kobe and an MDA offense.

Defense definitely needs to get better though.

the defense has been lousy all season and yet as of 5 games ago they had a winning record. that's a weak excuse.

We don't have the point guards creating offense for us anymore, and our threes have stopped falling.

To look on the bright side, Kobe has been off and on, so we can expect a good game from him tomorrow. On the bad side, Pau has been off and on, so we can expect a terrible game from him tomorrow.

Kobe may not be "done" but he sure as HELL is not worth $48 million over the next 2 years.

We are so screwed. I was so excited about the possibilities this summer. They are all officially crap.

it's not even about kobe IMO as much as it the other guys hitting their shots. i don't see why that would improve at all if the ball isn't moving, regardless of whether kobe is hitting HIS shots.

Kinda soon to be writing him off . . .
His athleticism and explosion are completely gone. He's averaging like 12 ppg. And he's 35, an OLD 35 at that. Next year may be completely healthy, but he'll be an OLD 36. Let us not forget those shaky knees as well. Injuries will be the end of a great career.

Be reasonable people. I know people think Kobe can walk on water and run through walls, but this injury has taught us all that he is mortal. I know "done" when I see it. And Kobe is done. As are the Lakers. Sad day, sad day indeed.

Whats a weak excuse? We were 10-9 and out of the playoffs. We were 4-7 at one point and had a 6-2 run in the 8 games before Kobe came back. We are 1-4 last 5 games....who's to say we won't go on another 6-2 run? We're adjusting and we have THREE POINT GUARDS injured. We have Kobe playing PG and playing extended minutes when we don't want to.

Who cares about a winning record when we are 12th....Kobe aint out there trying to maintain, he's trying to adjust to we can be BETTER than a 10-9 team. It's going to start rough but it is what it is, things happen guys get hurt. Kobe's trying his best and the offense WILL get back to 100ppg, I GUARANTEE YOU.

with the slower pace the defense will need to pick up though.....thats not all on Kobe. Thats on the entire team and MDA needs to make adjustments.

the defense can't pick up, short of a trade. they're not built that way. there's really no adjustment to be made.

and for 2 of the last 5 games we HAD a point gaurd. it made no difference.

Than we just ride it out. We weren't trying to be contenders this year anyway and Kobe wasn't supposed to come back this quick. Even a trade for a defensive guy probably won't help in the grand scheme this year. We're probably going to need more star power in the next 1-3 years or at least some 2nd tier stars.

If we ride it out this year, we can let Kobe adjust to his new play style, figure out which role guys we wanna keep and go from there. Maybe trying to get Chandler/Shumpert and waiting for 2015 FA is a possibility, maybe we pass on that and try to grab Melo in 2014, who knows.

We gotta just accept this year for what it is. The 6-2 run we went on made people think Kobe was catapult us to a big winning streak or something....but we just aren't that good of a team. Especially without Blake or Farmar who were stepping up MAJORLY during the 6-2 run. Farmar is a guy who knows how to play with Kobe and control the game without letting Kobe hog the ball.

Well obviously we overpaid. Kobe said himself he got paid for past accomplishments. We all know his marketing appeal is part of the deal.

But they wouldn't have signed the deal if they didn't have a plan. We are not screwed like everyone is assuming. And letting a legend Kobe go or lowballing him isn't exactly going to send a positive vibe to guys like Melo, Love, or KD who might want to end their careers here. The deal we gave Kobe let's other stars (and by stars I mean SUPERSTARS, not 2nd tier guys like Pau) know if they come here and have success they will be taken care of. Period.

If they are showing future stars that we will take care of them, it proves my argument even more. The only stars of that caliber that we can afford will not be free agents until 2 years from this summer.

If Love is the target we would need to sign a bunch of 1 year contracts to have space next summer again making us horrible at least this year and next.

We can afford to sign Melo this year if thats what the want. But maybe 2015 and 2016 is their plan and they've passed on 2014 since its just Bron (either staying or going to CLE) and Melo (who very well might not even be the guy we want )

Keep in mind guys that in January 2008, things didn't look too good for us neither. But then Mitch worked his magic. You never know what can happen or go down. Our FO has the long term track record of making the proper moves. Even recently we made a major move and it got vetoed. The coaching hires are inexcusable but hopefully the FO learns from that. And its not like we've always hired great coaches anyway. Besides Riley and PJ who else????? We failed with Brown and MDA but maybe the next one will be our next Riley/PJ

Kobe usually isnt even close to the guy he is defending. So in the game logs you only read "uncontested three shot by Korver (3pts)"
