That was some very good defense, that is how you win...not by just hoping to outscore the other team. |
I still think they're getting away with a lot of blown assignments. Bulls were 3 of their last 20 on three pointers and very few of those were guarded. |

Great game by everyone, Luke tried to take it away in the first half but KCP and Julius said, "NO!". _________________

Law of averages |
No doubt. This feels like a make up for the blazers game. Should have won that one. |
Yep... that one hurt. So I'm going to enjoy this game in that context. |

Luke's gotta learn that you can scream play defense, no more turnovers, and what the f*ck are you doing from the sidelines.
Second time in recent memory where he mismanaged the timeout situation. |

They definitely play more as a team defensively than they have in recent years. Last year, after two passes, the whole team was in disarray because two people would rotate to the same guy.
I'm still not sure how they're managing to hold teams to super low percentages even when they do leave them open now but it's been happening so consistently I just expect the other team to miss now whether they're guarded or not. |

Yep. This team can’t shoot to save its life, but, thanks to the heavens opening up and sending us Pope, the bulldog defender this team has always needed, they have a real defensive identity.
Kupchak never understood this need for a grimy defender. Clarkson is a great player, but Pope, even though his numbers aren’t nearly as good, is the guy the team needs more to win ball games.
Pope sets a defensive tone and spirit that is contagious. If he goes down today, the Lakers are a markedly different team, much, much worse on defense for sure.
This team will end up at or around 500. Just watch. |

I don't know what I should celebrate, the fact that we won the worst team in the nba or the fact that we was once trailed by 20 against the worst team in the nba. I know it is all water under the bridge now and a win is a win, but damn it we could have won this without all these dramas. |

I liked Luke's timeouts. We're a young team that needed to lock in mentally after showing lackluster effort. _________________ "I like looking at a guy's face when he realizes that even his best moves aren't going to work on me all night. They look depressed." - Ron Artest |

I get what you mean, and he did call them at the right times, but he just used too many of them, and had the game been a little closer it might have cost us again. |

The flip side of the coin is back when Phil would let the team "figure it out" year ago on the court without calling a timeout for extended periods of time. Both strategies have their pros and cons, but I think we're better served with quick timeouts for our young'uns. _________________ "I like looking at a guy's face when he realizes that even his best moves aren't going to work on me all night. Our passing game is really shaping up well. It really reminds me of GS at times. Luke running Steph Curry plays for JC with that run around the pick and sag for a 3. Bravo! _________________ Let's Go Lakers!!! |

Right. Luke needs to call timeout as much as possible. This team are not vetrerans that you would do a Phil on them. _________________ Let's Go Lakers!!! |

Nice 2nd half, Julius and KCP were beast mode. I even though Lonzo played well in the 4th when he came back in...good rebounding, hit a 3, very active hands on defense.
I know Lonzo makes a lot of mistakes, but his +/- is always decent it seems. 2nd on the team tonight with +14. I thought Holiday and Markannen killed them tonight, just too many bricks and dumb plays.
Nice win, solid effort starting about halfway through the 3rd. |
