How is he still injured? Summer League was like 3 months ago

Maybe it’s more then just a knee contusion?

Yeah doesn't sound too good.

On the bright side we really don't need him to rush back yet.

Yep.. I highly highly doubt he was gonna get any burn, besides maybe some preseason run ins... he isn’t expected to get much PT, maybe he does as the season goes on and some of our bigs are banged up

Good lord, that contusion smokescreen label is getting a little tedious, isn't it ? We have a young, big, heavy guy with knee injury, just say it.

Moe Wagner (left knee contusion) will miss the entire preseason. The Lakers said the first-round pick will be re-evaluated after the preseason.

Dam, wish Mo the best

Were gonna have to sign a stop gap center. Jeff Ayres?

I would actually love to see him get a chance, he plays with a lot of energy.

Moe's job this season is to get used to being a professional and get stronger.

Bright side for me is I really want to see what Zu can do this year. This way Zu should have a solid opportunity to show what he can do in preseason and the early part of the season. If he doesn’t come through, Wagner will get his shot after.

Not that I think they needed it, but creates a bigger opportunity for Zu and Beasley. My expectation is Wagner to play sparingly this year and be a big man replacement for next year when one-year deals and expiring's are gone.

Did the knee contusion come from a lederhosen injury at Octoberfest at Alpine Village?

Damaged goods. Lakers should've drafted Doncic.

Knee contusion is more descriptive than calling it a knee injury lol

Wagner is probably going to the Josh Hart route.

If he could temporarily shut down his stupid Gomer Pyle grin, he might just have enough talent to get some minutes out there...

He's gotta show the training staff he can do this before they reinstate him.

well i thought one of his pluses about him predraft and one of the reasons we didnt push hard at signing another FA center was that he was one of the more NBA ready bigs available at our draft spot?

I wish the Lakers drafted Mitchell Robinson. With Lebron, Kuzma & Ingram playing 3/4 do you really need a stretch 5? I am guessing Lakers hoped he would make it to them at 39. I don't hate Wagner, just not sure what he will actually end up doing.

As an aside, when I was watching the media day interviews, I noticed for the first time how blue his eyes were from the side profile. I'm glad for him that he wasn't born in the pre-WWII era because he pretty much hits all the marks that the SS was looking for in recruits back then. Blue eyes, blonde hair, tall. Not saying he's a bad guy or anything, but damned if he doesn't look like the exact stereotype they used to put on propaganda posters. Then again, Fred Roberts used to remind me of the German sniper in Saving Private Ryan who got his blue eye shot out. He was a lot more hardened looking than baby faced Mo and I don't even know if he's got Germans in the family.

Dude is going to get minutes by default if Zubac doesn’t step up. It’s too bad we can’t get a look at him now.
