The bench will have no playmakers at all. 2nd unit is gonna get outscored regularly, and when LBJ isn't in the game AD still needs someone to put him in good spots(not the spots we saw him in in game 1 either).

Its only one game but it did highlight why we need Rondo to start most nights

I do not like him at all on the starting lineup.

I'd still go with AB/Green/LBJ/AD/JAV.

But when LBJ goes out, bring in Rondo (if you have to) and let him and AD run PnRs.

When AD goes out, bring in Kuz and LBJ, sub out Rondo.

Easy formula.

Yea I'm not too worried about a win or a loss but I would like to see a much better strategy for this game. Utah shouldn't be able to blow up the pick and roll so that might help and they don't have a Kawhi to unleash on us. On paper we should be able to contain Mitchell and Conley to an extent.

Indeed. You're basically saying that he needs to be relegated to backup PG and he should never be on the floor with James. I agree.

Is there any situation that you could imagine him agreeing to be dealt, or are the Lakers essentially stuck with him?

I think Kuzma and Rondo can work well. In fact I think a lineup of Rondo, Green, Kuzma, AD and McGee can be quite competitive. Rondo’s defensive liability can be minimised.

So with AB hurt.
If Rondo's calf is good, he might end up starting

Rondo was one of the worst players in the NBA last season period, why would anyone want him back in the rotation? (hint: making a few 3 pointers in the season where the defense completely ignored him is not a good reason)

Can’t play Rondo if he doesn’t play defense. It’s what is happening with Kuz right now.

I know both have to get into game shape, but effort is a big thing. Example: Lebron last season vs. this season.

Rajon Rondo won’t play tomorrow but he did some three on three today. There’s still been some soreness for him so the Lakers aren’t putting a timetable on when they’ll get him back. They’ll slowly ramp up his work.

He wont be back for tomorrow's game, so the Rondo despisers won't have to worry yet.

.

You can still despise him for being injury prone and not even being available (like last year).

He has shown in the past that he has almost uncanny chemistry with Anthony Davis.

We can't have LeBron making every play, we need other guys that can break down a defense and make a good pass and I think you would agree Rondo has proven he can do exactly that.

I love the guy and expect him to be playing big minutes in the money games (remember those) that may take place later this season, finally.

Does anyone really expect Rondo to stay healthy after he comes back? He's made of glass at this point.

KCP had a nice showing against the Mavs so you can pretty much guarantee a clunker in the next game.
