Ended up with a -1, which isn't the end of the world.

The issue is that most of Rondo's time overlapped when Giannis was not in the game and Lebron or AD were. That is the time you want to extend the lead.

Ya Rondo was fine last night. Lets not pretend he sucked when he didn't.
Save the criticism for when it's deserved. Otherwise it just comes off as pure hate. He did take 2 poor shots in the 4th. But he was fine overall considering he played well before that.

There’s a certain expectation on how he supposed to keep up with the brilliance of Lebron when he subs for him and that’s where the disconnect is coming from. Brah even at Lebron 17th, there’s is no role player that can replicate what he does in running the offense.

What we need from Rondo is show up like playoff Rondo and close out at least one game in a series to preserve Lebron and that’s a realistic expectation.

Yeah he was ok last night. Not great. Not terrible. But my point was Vogel did the right thing and limited him to 12 minutes. Caruso brought the ball up besides LBJ and he was key to that game. He went with the right guy.

Rondo has been an F- all season. "Saving our criticism" just because he rose to the level of D+ and/or we manage to win in spite of him does nothing. He shouldn't be playing.

He had 4 bad plays on offense ( 3 low percentage shots) and 1 were he passed up an open 3 and forced someone else into a bad shot. That doesn’t even take into consideration the lack of floor spacing and his non existent defense.

For a veteran that is playing because of his supposed b-ball IQ and what he brings on offense, every forced shot is magnified.

That's an interesting way to describe a 5/4/2 game in 12 minutes. A plus/minus of -1. Against the best team in the league.

He's been bad this season. Last night I'd give him a passing grade.

He's the only other playmaker on the team besides Bron.
If we had an offense in place that just had league average player and ball movement though. I would agree he shouldn't play.

Agreed.

we are setting the bar way too low on Rondo. Being just ok is not good enough if we want to win a championship. Its time to pull the plug on Rondo.

We can keep saying this until we’re blue in the face and it won’t change anything. Despite his horrible play it’s painfully clear that he’s not going anywhere.

I’m not sure if it’s gonna happen this way but I’m preparing for him to cost us a title (and for Lebron to get blamed for it).

He was comically bad in his short stint today. Just useless.

Lakers were up by 1 point 30-29, and then this happened:

9:56 - Rondo turnover

9:40 - Rondo 3-point miss

9:17 - Rondo layup miss

That was 3 straight possessions in a row, Lakers now down 33-30

The Rondo/Dwight/James trio is awful. It has been the all season and yet Vogel goes to it to start the 2nd and 4th.

The biggest issue though is we are playing James when other teams have their best players on the bench and can't extend the lead, instead we are losing leads and then James is tired and needs rest mid-way through the quarter.

Those 6 minutes a game of all 3 just kill the Lakers and it doesn't just impact the game for 6 minutes.

The Lakers outscored the Clippers by 8 in the 3rd. Let's hope they can avoid the fourth quarter collapse they had on Christmas.
