dont know how credible this guy is so take it with a grain of salt.

rumor: Garnett to the Lakers for Odom, Bynum and George to be declared on Tuesday.
source: An NBA agent whos close to a friend of mine
Take it for whats its worth, im really only posting it (and the reason why its not OT) because if it goes down, it rules the Lakers out of tryna make a play for Bosh when it comes time for him to re-sign
we'll see what happens, but my boy is pretty adamant that its close to a done deal. I cant vouch for the rumor, but i can vouch that he is infact a close friend of an NBA Agent. |

Seriously, if this is real, Id prefer to give up 10 future 1st rounders than Bynum, but what the heck its KG. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

Of course I don't want to trade Bynum, but you can't refuse KG...if there's some truth to it, then what about the Francis rumour? Smokescreen?
Because if the Lakers get Francis and KG...watch another dinasty coming _________________ "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it's not open." - Frank Zappa |

I think Jim Buss would do anything on his power to keep Bynum over KG, when he takes the team over, he will have a Bynum in his prime over a retired KG and a rebuilding team. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

I don't think they will.
What many Kobe fans, erm, I mean Laker fans here don't seem to realize is that the Laker organization are planning for the TEAM's future, not for Kobe's future. If it means that the period of Laker rebuilding happens to coincide with part of Kobe's prime, then so be it.
KG, great though he is, does not automatically mean a championship when paired with Kobe. It definitely makes the team one of the two or three challengers for the title, but it's debatable whether they get past the Pistons and the Spurs (and the Suns if/when Amare comes back).
The Lakers clearly see Bynum as an integral part of their team for the next 15 years. They won't trade that away for a couple of years of possible glory. The thinking being that a young Bynum/older Kobe duo in a few years might have a better chance at a ring than an ageing Bryant/KG combo. |

Bynum in his prime could be in the year 2015. Look how long it took Kobe. While KG will be retired by then, the Lakers may want to take a chance and win the next 4 championships instead of waiting that long. Jim Buss can build his team when his time comes, as for now let's win. |

And that's not even the scary part. The scary part is that nobody knows how good Bynum will become. At least with KG you know what you're getting. |

No, I don't think management would give up Bynum even for KG. That's what makes him untouchable. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |
