But maaaaan. That cap situation in a few years is gonna be brutal. By 2021, Butler and LeBron will be making 76 million between them and both will be extension eligible for deals starting at 45/41 mil respectively. They'll be 37 and 31 (34 I'm Thibs years?).
Agree. However, none of our draft picks is a big difference maker the way Luka Doncic is expected to be and is. Hence we may not have a choice...Lakers are between a rock and...
I hope we don't become the next Pierce/KG Nets. |

We were not on Jimmy's list of preferred teams to be traded to. I don't think he's a sure thing. |

Yeah, did he say something recently? I don't see why he'd even want to come here now. The Sixers are stacked, and we're a bit of a mess, lol. |

He did a while ago before Tobias trade
He wants more touches
But if we get Jimmy and then get AD, he will have less touches again lol |

The Jimmy-doesn't-have-us-on-his-list stuff I wouldn't worry about, in terms of where he may sign if it's not Philly. The fact is that he was going to be traded before Dec. 15 and we were not going to ever be able to trade for him before Dec. 15 (once we waived Deng that was cemented), so his agent simply was being practical. I don't believe it means that Jimmy Butler wasn't interested in being on the Lakers. |

Draymond and KD has been low key known to hang out with Lebron and his group a lot. |

He is considered the heart and soul of that team. Probably the most important guy on their defensive scheme. Without him the other 3 can easily be rattled. |

problem is his max value days are in the past....many of his advanced metrics have fell off a cliff this season which is highly suggestive that their downward turn will be the norm. |

You do bring up some good points to be aware of down the road but that still doesn't trump your first point... That it would be a home run.
Having a driven two-way player to help compliment the young players them be a contender for the next 3 to 4 years. You have to be careful though that we don't run with the Tibs factor or 2022, or you get KG Nets nonsense comparisons. |

LeBron will probably retire.
The Nets traded all their picks. We aren't doing this to get LeBron and Butler. |

It would be pretty amazing to sign Draymond and Butler from a toughness standpoint... but I'd sure hate to lose all the youngsters for guys who will all be expiring fast. |

Dray would be Lebron's Artest/MWP.
Butler/Bron/Dray/any part of our core is enough to compete for a chip. _________________ I was horribly wrong about Brandon Ingram. |

I still say we go all in for Kyrie and Davis this summer... They are the youngest out of the free agents and can play together for a long time. Get a deal in place for Davis at the draft (with an agreement that the deal is made official 1 week into free agency), then sign Kyrie. We would be able to keep Bullock's cap hold as well... I know people are against it, but I offer Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, and all 4 first round picks (the deal works because of the cap space remaining after signing Kyrie and assuming our pick is going out in the deal). The difference between this trade and the Brooklyn trade is that Davis is still very young, Brooklyn was trading for a bunch of guys exiting their prime. This deal would also almost guarantee us getting another all-star to sign (Kyrie) knowing they would be playing with both LeBron and Davis long term... We would still have Bullock, Hart, Wagner, and Bonga, plus the Room Exception, and we would also still have a first round pick every other year...
Kyrie/Bonga
Bullock/Hart
LeBron
Davis
Room Exception/Wagner
There is no doubt in my mind that team is a true championship contender... You know we would get a very solid player with the room exception and even guys coming for the minimum that would want to play on that team. |

PG13 ballin out hurts us. He wouldn't be getting the credit he is getting this year if he was playing besides LeBron.
Aging superstar with a huge ego who's declining...I can't see a franchise changing player who'd want to join us. |

NO had their chance to get that package.. so long as Paul keeps the pressure on NO and every other team that AD is 100% walking, our new offer should not include Kuzma. |

I think this is actually bad for us. They've been playing better when he's been out. |
