Jail time!!!

Cracked the skull of an 84 year old woman to steal her purse. Woman eventually died days later as a direct result from her injuries. Sad.

What the hell that's crazy. I though this was a joke at first. Why would she need to steal an old lady's purse? Kawhi not taking care of his fam with his millions?

Surprised the DWade news didnt come up yet.

Would gladly take him as a playmaker off the bench.

Hell yea good news. Itsays it’s good and not prorated so can be used after the trade deadline for buyout market.

If perhaps we get Lucky no one will take on the 17 million contract of Iggy and he will be brought out. Than we have an opportunity after feb deadline

I read speculation from twitter that the Lakers can use the disabled option via trade and get a big like Willy Hernangomez.

She's 6'2" and 320# - USC could use her at nose tackle.

good news

well it doesnt open up another slot for the lakers and its less than the vet min that we can already use all day everyday.
I think only value it could potentially have is if its used in a trade.

Cousins’ salary would work better in a trade, I guess we have given up on trying to trade him.

Sources: Memphis wants three-time champion Andre Iguodala to report to training camp and is refusing right now to engage in buyout, which would prevent Iguodala from finishing a Hall of Fame career on his terms because this may be his final NBA season.

Iguodala is VP of NBPA, one of league’s most respected and desires a contender at this stage. Young, rebuilding Grizzlies received a valuable 2024 1st from Golden State in Iguodala trade, and after Dwight Howard buyout, were expected to eventually have same talks with Iguodala.

I still believe he gets bought out eventually. Memphis, and rightfully so is playing hard ball to try and gain assets. It's smart. But By the time season starts, I feel like they'll let him go. Pressure will start to mount.

Nice Catch!

The DPE should have value in the late season buyout market. Apparently, minimum contracts pro-rate from the first day of the season. So a player released on 2/20/20 signing a minimum deal would only get on the order of 27% of the minimum salary. For a 10+ year vet, that's $700k. Using the DPE, the Lakers could offer a full $1.75 million.

Philly, LA Clippers, Milwaukee and Golden St (hard cap) can only offer the pro-rated minimum. Houston and Denver both have their Bi-Annual ($3.6) and some portion of their Mid-Level exceptions ($5.7 and $8.3 respectively). As those exceptions don't start to pro-rate until 1/10, that creates two slots each above the Lakers' DPE. Both of those teams are just a hair into the tax though, which probably speaks to why they didn't use the exceptions in their entirety in the first place.

If they're granted the exception it seems LA will have an arrow in the quiver for February.

Obviously hoping Iguodala gets bought out and chooses to join the Lakers. But it would be kind of funny to have three players in our rotation that Memphis bought out (Bradley, Iguodala and Dwight).

I think Memphis is trying to play the odds. No one at this point will give them what they want because Iggy's contract is $17 million (which is overpriced). The Clippers for example I think wanted to do it, but they would have to give up some significant players to match the $17 million contract of Iggyy But if an injury happens and now a team desperately needs him, they will be more willing to give up more assets for him.

The Lakers just have to hope that doesn't happen and Memphis doesn't get any team to match his contract with the assets they want. Than maybe Memphis will buy him out and the Lakers have a chance. Unfortunately this may not happen till deep in the season since Memphis can wait and I am sure aren't looking to do anyone favors. Plus Iggy isn't the type that will throw a tantum over this.
