I'm legit shocked Purdue won this game and so easily.

I mean they started 0-3 and lost to Eastern Michigan of all teams.

They're going to get fined for letting the students storm the field but it will be worth it.

Wish I was there I remember when I could hear the roar of the crowd from my dorm room back in the day.

UCLA has won 2 in a row. At least we're seeing progress. (And by "we", I mean fellow UCLA alumni lol.) At this rate, maybe we can give USC a game.

People were sleeping on Purdue because of their 3-3 record...and those first three games were not good losses, but they lost all 3 by a total of 8 points. Since then, they have beaten better teams 4 straight games by 99 total points. I expect them to finish around 8-4 this season.....possibly even 9-3 which would likely get them into the Big10 Championship game.

better games on the slate this week....

Baylor @ #13 West Virginia on Thursday @ 7:00 PM ET - Baylor has been playing well, and WVU has not.
#23 Utah @ UCLA on Friday @ 10:30 PM ET - UCLA has won 2 in a row, but Utah will be a tough matchup.
#2 Clemson @ FSU @ 12:00 PM ET - Classic rivalry that appears to be one sided this year.
#9 Florida vs. #7 Georgia @ Jacksonville, FL @ 3:30 PM ET - "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" should be a classic this year.
#18 Iowa @ #17 Penn State @ 3:30 PM ET - Iowa still in the Big10 West battle.
#21 South Florida @ Houston @ 3:30 PM ET - USF is 7-0, but will have a hard time keeping up with Houston.
#12 Kentucky @ Missouri @ 4:00 PM ET - Kentucky still getting no respect...7 point dogs.
#14 Washington State @ #24 Stanford @ 7:00 PM ET - Huge game for PAC12 North.
#3 Notre Dame vs. Navy in San Diego @ 8:00 PM ET - On paper, should be easy game for ND....but I am not sure that is the way it plays out.
#6 Texas @ Oklahoma State @ 8:00 PM ET - Stillwater is never easy, and Texas did not look good last week.

other games of interest....

Miami @ Boston College on Friday @ 7:00 PM ET - Miami tries to claw back into the ACC Coastal conversation.
Texas Tech @ Iowa State @ 12:00 PM ET - Both teams are playing their best ball this season, and both have an outside chance to get to Dallas.
Purdue @ Michigan State @ 12:00 PM ET - Can Purdue get back up for MSU?
San Diego State @ Nevada @ 10:30 PM ET - San Diego State is not out of the hunt for the Group of 5 NY Bowl slot, and Nevada is better than their 4-4 record.

Will Grier is stupid good when he is on....still only halfway through the 2nd quarter, and he is 15-21 for 302 Yards and 3 TD's! Should have 4.....threw a beautiful long ball that went off David Sills fingers in the endzone....settled for a FG.

Everytime I watch ESPN or Fox Sports....the narrative seems like a forgone conclusion that Oklahoma and Texas are the best teams in the Big 12....the only 2 teams that really have a chance to get to Big 12 Championship game....and clearly the only 2 Big12 teams with a snowballs chance in hell to sniff the playoffs. Guess 1 loss West Virginia does not fit in to the picture? Hmmm, the one team all 3 have played so far this season is Baylor.....

September 29, 2018
Baylor - 33
Oklahoma - 66

October 13, 2018
Baylor - 17
Texas - 23

October 25, 2018
Baylor - 14
West Virginia - 58

Guess the spotlight was too much? Georgia Southern beat them 34-14 tonight! Honestly, Georgia Southern is a solid team with only 1 loss which came against Clemson.

was watching ESPN2's Friday Night High School Football game of the week earlier, and it was two Alabama teams....one of whose QB was Tua Tagovailoa's little brother who is also an Alabama commit. On one drive Tagovailoa's team went for it on 4th and 16....completed a pass for about 14 yards, and the referee gave a terrible spot and 1st Down. I just laughed because I see these horrible spots all the time in high school football.....but wait, in Alabama High School games, they have instant replay!!! It had nothing to do with ESPN being there....they actually were not even allowed to use ESPN footage. I was shocked, never seen instant replay in a regular high school game.

FWIW, the process was a clusterF#$k. It was raining and the ref goes over to a tent and pops open a little DVSports case that looked like a movie prop that someone would use to launch nuclear missiles from a field location. The ref who is in his 60's is using this little joystick to control the replay he is watching all while appearing frustrated/confused.....while about 10 men wearing the home team gear stand around him watching and commenting to him the whole time. In the end, he made the correct call, and it was a turnover on downs.

Still, have to love the instant replay in high school.

You let these things bother you too much. West Virginia will prove it, or fail to prove it, on the field. If they beat OU and UT, they'll get respect. If they don't, it's a moot point.

I am a die hard college football fan.... of course I allow any real or perceived slight to bother me. It is like oxygen to my fandom.
