Until the Lakers win another title all current and future players will be compared to him hell even after it will still happen, thats how big of an impact Kobe had on this franchise, I know not everyone agree but for my generation he is the greatest Laker ever. Get used to it

It's on the front office. McGee is our only good big and that's why we lost. Like kept Svi in for too long but we lost cause we have no other good center and that's on Magic and Pelinka

If only the front office could find gems in free agency like they do in the draft.

You mean to tell me Beasley isnt a gem?

Luke should look at the last two plays of the game. Popovich ran a play and got a great shooting role player a wide open shot coming off some ball movement. Luke just put the ball in the hands of his star and relied on him to make a tough shot. Some coaches coach and some coaches just rely on talent.

Yup! Thank you!

People love to re-post fake posts like that. In actual game winning/game tying shots Kobe has like 30+ game winners.

If only if our President and GM were as good as our scouting department.

I'm really not sure about Luke as a coach, but i'm also not sure about Magic's ability to hire a better one. Magic and Rob's basketball insight is clearly impoverished. Will they actually sniff out a good X and O's guy or just hire a name or (even worse) a former Laker?

Wouldn't hurt to try.

Uhhh it could definitely hurt to try.

Let's not forget Kurt Rambis just got a "consultant" position.

C'mon man give Rob and Magic some credit. They've done some great things, despite the Randle blunder. On second thought, maybe leave Luke for the rest of the year. Definitely let him go next summer and start auditioning people.

Getting Lebron is clearly a coup, but how easy is it to want to get the best player in the NBA on your team? The real work of GM is putting good pieces around him and they have stumbled badly in that regard.

Agreed. Upgrading the HC position should also be on their checklist.

It's a tough loss, but people are overdrawing conclusions. We were missing two key players and lost to a disciplined team by a basket in OT.

Bright sides: Jonathan Williams looks like at least a patchwork solution to our backup 5 problems, meaning Kuzma shouldn't have to do it anymore. We shot average from 3.

Downsides: Lebron had to play 43 minutes. The 12-million Dollar Man was basically benched after 19 and did jack when he was in. The fact we shot average from 3 is something to rejoice over (and possibly a fluke).

I think Hart/Kuz (not at C)/Zo getting solid minutes will produce positive 3pt outcomes.

I hope KCP isn't a lost cause, because he has to be a net neutral NBA player like last season for this season's team to produce.

Luke is correct. The refs have screwed us TWO games in a row now. They keep rewarding flopping while not calling actual fouls in the paint. We're aggressive and dominating driving to the hole and scoring in the paint yet we don't get the calls or free throws

I imagine keeping Lebron's minutes down was at least somewhat of a priority and yet he's averaging near 40 mpg so far. Meanwhile, the 2nd highest paid guy on our team, The Absolutely Worthless KCP, is averaging half that, and here are his numbers:

5/2.5/0.5, 27% FG%, 16% 3P%

Just a dumpster fire of a signing. I fully believe we could be 3-0 if we signed Brook and Randle instead of him.

I don't think you want to include numbers from Kobe's last few years.

This is when they were in their primes.

My point isn't to trash Kobe... it's to point out that they are both great players and some are remembering the past through rose colored lenses

Spurs not a high powered offense

Tbh they are not that great we just played 2 of the top 3 teams from last season bricked a whole bunch of open 3s and still could’ve won both games if not for a couple late defensive lapses

Did Luke missed 2 winning FT and the game winning shot? You are clueless.

Actuallly Luke’s inability to instill defense killed the Lakers in the first quarter - that was the fatal flaw not the late game heroics

Its a young team and they will make mistake. Defense is a product of togetherness and playing as one with experience. Are you expecting this team to be top 10 in defense? Warriors gave up 100 plus points to Utah and Denver last week
