Even after an 0-2 Start the Lakers are actually doing some things right:
They are:
#1 in Fast Break Points per game
#2 in Points in the Paint per game
#2 in percentage of ponts from 2 pointers
#3 in Blocks per game with Javale Mcgee #1 overall
#4 in Fast Break Efficiency
#5 in 3rd Qtr Points
#6 in Steals per game with Josh Hart #2 overall
#8 in Assists per game with Rondo #1 overall
#8 Scoring - Points per game
The Lakers had 7 players score in double figures against the Rockets, the most by any team since 2006. _________________ I'm On point, On task, On message, and Off drugs. They are giving 126 ppg and that is still 26th in the league. 115 DRTG is Top-20.

I’m sure they’ll improve once they get used to the new teammates. The 3pt shooting, hope it’s just early season jitters |

Only stat that is important is 0-2, as in no wins. |

That last part doesn't make sense, just the other day I was looking at box scores and I think it was Indiana or NO that had 10 players in double figures. |

Based on the stats, good & bad, it is safe to assume that we have a lot to work with and a lot of work to do.
It's very early, no sweat and it takes time to gel. IMO we have the talent to make this an exciting season. |

None of this will matter unless the Lakers get into the top 20 in 3 point %, preferably top 15.
If you can’t shoot, you can’t keep up. It takes all the energy to just tie or stay close with 2s. Got to make the 3s. |

That’s assuming they’re all in the half court set which we know a bunch chunk isn’t since we are at the top in fast break points |

I don’t think that makes a difference tbh. Fast break points may keep them close but we saw in the first 2 games, the opponent hits a few 3s and suddenly the tie or close 1 point game balloons to a 7+ point deficit.
Trading 3s for 2s is a losing proposition in today’s game. At least they are taking them but they have to start making a higher percentage whether it’s in transition or half court. |

You can say that at the end of the season, no at this point. All these stats good or bad show you what to improve or keep doing after 2 games |

Per 100 Possessions
OKC is #30 in points and OKC is #30 in three point percentage.
The Lakers are #27 in points and #29 in three point percentage.
The league isn't playing with Half Court Make it, Take it (Winner's Ball) rules, so the other team gets a possession after the Lakers make a basket.
They are going to need extreme efficiency in the up tempo plays to offset being behind in three point shooting percentage when forced into being in half court sets. |

My first two thoughts in reaction to these numbers.
1. 3>2
2. How bad has our defense been? |

May want to include:
27th in rebounding with a -9 differential
27th in offensive rebounds for opponent. Giving up 13.5 per game.
To be positive, I love the energy they are playing with.
Just need to clean up the defensive rotations, improve on rebounding both ends and some increased offensive efficiency. Asking too much? |

But we’re playing our blue print , push push push. Once they got familiar with each other, the shots would fall more, less rushing shots from the younger guys and the defense should be closer to last year (McGee need to play more mins). OKC already a finish product |

They are at or near the top in the categories bolded. You are suggesting that they can improve and that will overcome underperforming in other categories.
Maybe they can improve in those categories, but I don't see that as enough to offset underperforming in the three point percentage category.
LeBron is 33 and Rondo is 32. If they can keep playing at this pace for the rest of the season, then I will be impressed. If the pace has to be slowed down because they are tired or they have to take some games off to rest, then things could get ugly with more half court sets and bad three point shooting.
LeBron has slipped a bit in recent years on defense. Again being 33 and playing at a higher pace suggests that he will need to conserve energy at times and rest more than desired by Walton on defense. |

We need another Big to hold down the paint when McGee hits the Bench. Second chance rebounding is killing the Lakers!
We have been in every game. But getting a stop and then not securing the rebound has been our Achilles heel. |
