Gonna be tough with LeBron and Rondo out.

I think Kuz will be Kuz but we need BI and especially Lonzo to step up their games if we want a W. Time to show why they were the number 2 picks.

What happened? Rajon played Christmas. I missed most of the game traveling from relatives Christmas dinner to home. I thought he'd be playing tonight.

He sprained his hand or finger against GS. Did not see when it happened.

You may be right. I googled THIS

Quote:
1) L.A. is down two of its veteran leaders
The Lakers will face their toughest internal test of the season, as they will play without LeBron James for the first time this year.

James — who suffered a strained left groin in the Christmas Day win over Golden State — leads the Lakers in scoring, rebounds, assists, 3-pointers, free throws and minutes. And he is elite among all players, ranking fourth in the NBA with 27.3 points per game.

To compound matters, the Lakers will also be without Rajon Rondo, who stepped up in James’ absence against the Warriors. Rondo provided 15 points and 10 assists with zero turnovers, guiding L.A. to a 26-point rout.

Someone else will have to take over in James’ and Rondo’s stead.
DAMN!!!

With Lebron out Kuz is the #2 scorer on this team not BI. Kuz led the team in scoring against GS. BI needs to stay in his lane and not freeze Kuz out on the offense.

This is something that puzzles me. Fans think to be a leader you have to score. Leading is causing teammates to follow. The game is played on 2 ends of the 94x50. Rondo's a leader, he's not a scorer. He's a player who knows the game and how to get his teammates to play together on both ends of floor. It's on Luke tonight.

Kuzma shooting everything trying to play hero
Ingram forcing dribbling too much with no Lebron
Lonzo crawling into a shell with added pressure
Zubac not looking as good with no Lebron
Hart fouling a 3 point shooter

Biggest worry might be the battle between Kuz & BI when it comes to who becomes "the guy" with no Bron. We'll see how Zubac does now that teams are going to account for him now and scout against him and see if he's still productive. With both Bron & Rondo, can be a "blessing in disguise" to see if any of the young players takes a big leap and see if they can put up big numbers AND win as well most importantly.

I'm concerned about BI and Kuz too. Kuz is a natural alpha. BI thinks he's an alpha but he's not.

Kuz essentially took BI's "spot" as LeBron's number two guy due to BI's suspension and injury, and being a better fit with LeBron than BI so far. BI has been most productive without LeBron, and still wants to prove that he is that franchise guy he sees himself as. This might be the most intriguing part of the Lakers season with no Bron & Rondo not playing, the young guys got the keys to the car, and now its up to them to see how much they have improved and if they are now officially winning players on their own with no Bron & Rondo.

Kuz is already the guy. While Kuz gets easy shots in the flow, and has also figured how to cut for james, BI is still totally iso, forcing shots and trying to kobeate....

Alex (The Fox Stopper) Caruso and Johnathan Williams have been called up by the Lakers and are expected to be with the team tonight in Sacramento.

Lonzo averaged a triple double during Summer League. Maybe this is his time to shine.
