If it was possible, would you trade Lebron James for another superstar or a quality set of young players?

Magic underestimated the amount of help Lebron and four young and talented, yet painfully slow developing players would need. The kids aren’t ready, Lebron is aging (but still elite) and Luke can’t coach. It’s a perfect storm of (bleep).

Our offseason signings other than Lebron were mostly garbage.

This. Pretty much cut and dry. Magic signed a bunch of ball dominant "playmakers" that really are redundant with Ingram and Zo and Bron

Magic and Luke are the biggest problem. Magic is a loudmouth who can’t stay off the camera, keeps mentioning other players that are not Lakers and got straight up played by the Pelicans. Traded DLO, let Randle walk for nothing, drafted Lonzo instead of Tatum or Fox, asked Lonzo not to break all of his records, said he expects to see a Ball jersey in the rafters. Just completely delusional.

Luke has no offensive system, has a bunch of his frat brothers as assistant coaches, and has no clue on how to set proper rotations as has something like a 25% winning percentage.

The problem isn’t any one player. The team has showed what it is capable of by beating teams like GSW and Bos. IMO they’re just sick of Luke and want to get him canned for someone else. Lebron isn’t going to bail out Luke anymore.

Keep Zo’s name out of your mouth. That kid is just as good as Tatum and could be a top 10 player someday if all goes right.

The guy can't stay healthy, shoots worse free throws than Shaq and has a loudmouth father who can't keep his mouth shut. Tatum on the other hand is better than Lonzo in nearly every statistical category and was a beast in the playoffs last year as a rookie. Take the blinders off.

You’re right. Nobody likes a loudmouth who can’t shut up!

All kidding aside, I’d rather have Zo over Tatum’s 16ppg.

This team was 6 and 11 without him. We were 4th seed with him and we want to trade him now???

What is wrong with people on here? Let’s blame Lebron, who had a triple double, for how soft the young guys play and how boneheaded Luke’s rotations are.

This. I've never been a big fan of Lebron and his narcissism, but he gives us the best chance of winning. If we traded him it will look bad to whoever we're hoping our next superstar will be, and the FO will look even more incompetent than they look right now.

Magic and Pelinka are still relative newbies. Their only choice is to learn from their mistakes, because if we aren't title contenders next season then with Lebron's age it will probably be too late after that.

Let's trade Lebron, now we're talking. The Lakers may not have showed up tonight, but you can always count on LG to come with it.

Guys he had 28/11/16 sure but he didn't close out on that one free throw that one time. I'm not even sure if we'd have any takers. Should probably just waive him so he can sign a 1-day contract with Cleveland and retire.

He is not top three of all time.

Good luck ever getting notable free agents, anyone signed by Klutch if you trade Lebron.

It's hard enough to sign them now. The backlash we would get would be damaging.

Just sign the other players in the summer then trade lebron right after lol

The timeline is just awkward. I love our young guys but they're still a few years away, and we aren't even investing in player development. We have a FO that undervalues young talent. Going the youth route doesn't seem like a priority for this team. And then we have a past prime superstar who only plays one end of the court. There are veteran role players. This roster is just a bunch of parts. If I were in charge I'd trade Lebron and let all these 1-year contracts run out. Hire the best in player development and build a team that fans are invested in.

A team with great athleticism and horrid defense, competitive players but worst FT% in the entire NBA, seem disorganized and without consistency or much passion is not the fault of one player and it won't matter which players you have if something bigger is the problem. It reeks of bad coaching

Please somebody this before I get sick

Bron has less trade value than people think. Players with more trade value than him given his age and mileage:

Giannis
Harden
Curry
Durant
Paul George
Luka
Zion
Kawhi
Embiid

Tank the rest of this year, trade LeBron for DLo, resign Bullock and Muscala, sign Randle this summer...

Ball, Bonga
DLo, Hart
Ingram, Bullock
Kuzma, Wagner
Randle, Muscala

1st Round Lottery Pick

Use cap space to bring in a Max Free Agent this summer (under 10 years) and use the Room Exception for a backup point guard, and we are all set going forward... LeBron is too old and does not have enough time left to grow with this team... PG would have been great last summer and Kawhi would be great this summer...

That Suns trade is delusional. They are about to have a strong core going forward.

I highly doubt Randle will be better than Lebron any of the 4 seasons Lebron is signed to LA.

The loss to Atlanta all but confirms that Lebron James and his 35$ millioni dollars a year cannot lead this Lakers team to victory. He'll be 35 years old next year, he's already pubically said he has nothing to prove, so he's not hungry anymore, he's been slowed by injury, so his body is no longer invincible, he's producing TV shows and is looking to enter into movie production, so his interest in basketball is no longer a priority, and be in directly or indirectly, he's poisoned the chemistry of the team.

Why is it far-fetched to some of you to consider trading him for either a younger and hungrier superstar, or a few young and hungry quality players to pair with our own young core?
