Quote: | On Saturday night at a 7-Eleven in Toledo, Ohio, store owner Jay Singh spotted someone who made him suspicious.
"You can see he's turning here, putting stuff in his pocket," he said.
Singh told an employee to call 911, and then he confronted the customer.
"He said, 'Oh, I'll put it back.' I said 'No, put everything on the counter. I want to see all the things that you have,'" Singh said.
He wanted him to answer a simple question: Why was he stealing?
"He said, 'I'm hungry. I'm stealing it for myself and my younger brother.' I said you need food? I'll give you food. That's not a problem," Singh said.
So he did, filling a bag with food for free and waving off the 911 call. Singh said there was no point in getting the young thief arrested.
"He's a young kid. That will go on his record that he was a thief. He cannot do anything in his life. He will not get a good job. This will not solve his hunger problem," Singh said.
Across the counter, Cedric Bishop was a witness. He thought what he saw was amazing, so he shared it on Facebook. |

I noticed many Seven 11's were owned and operated by foreigners so I did a google. LINK I can't vouch for the validity but the result was interesting.
People come to America for the advantages the country offers. I have some Mexican acquaintances that do something similar to buy houses. Families move in together pay the mortgages and move on to another property. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Yeah there are many groups that are tied to certain types of businesses in large numbers because they've got "turn-Key" mentorship available to them, often before they even arrive.
Sikhs & Pakastanis = Franchised Convenience Stores
Koreans = Non Franchised Convenience Stores
Indians = Motels (Northern Indians Franchised & Southern Indians Independent) New Indian arrivals are EXCEEDINGLY over-represented in the Telecom Field.)
Vietnamese Men = Dry Cleaners
Vietnamese Women = Nail Salons
Eritreans & Ethiopians = Parking Lots
Somalis = Car Hire & Limosine Service
Hispanic - Gardening Services
Arabic Peoples, Lithuanians, & Brazilians = Aircraft Parts Brokering[/quote] _________________ I'm On point, On task, On message, and Off drugs. A Streetwise Smart Bomb, Out of rehab and In denial. Not all 7-11's are the same...I was out doing a jog on a hot day a few weeks ago, and forgot my water - I was near-dehydrated toward the end of it. Stopped by a 7-11 that I buy from frequently, and asked for some water (I even said they could take it out of the sink).
The guy refused, and said I had to buy a bottle. |

Your problem is associating the act with the store name and not the person. 7-11 isn't kind. The man is kind. |

Yeah it’s no coincidence the 711 logo is the same colors of the flag of India. _________________ "The best there is. The best there was. The best there ever will be.", said Bret Hart regarding the Los Angeles Lakers. |

No, the original 7-11 was in Texas founded in 1927 and was originally called "Totem"/ It's name changed to 7-11 in 1946 to reflect the stores new hours, 7am - 11pm. They went to the 24 hour cycle in 1963, and went outside the state of Texas in 1964. The first franchise was sold in 1968. In 1990, facing bankruptcy, 7-11 was bailed out by a Japanese Company which still owns 70% of it's stock today.

This is a great example of something I've been thinking about recently: that we shouldn't send people to jail for committing petty or low-level crimes. Instead some kind of restitution or resolution with the victim should be set up. We also need to rehabilitate people who commit both small and big crimes (except for murderers and terrorists). If we want to keep your people safe and protected while reducing the chances of people committing another crime after they get convicted, rehabilitation is better than our mindset of "lock them up and throw away the key, to hell with that bastard". _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |
