Hey everyone, I'm an Iowa State fan just stopping by to give you all a quick scouting report on THT.

When he declared for the draft, most mocks had him going in the 20's so getting him at 46 could be a steal for you guys.

He showed flashes of brilliance, but was really inconsistent (not surprising given he was the 4th youngest player in college basketball last year). Didn't shoot the 3 that well, but a good chunk of his 3's were bad step-back shots. If he cleans that up, he could be a very efficient player for you. He's still pretty raw, so I don't know how much he'll contribute to the Lakers next year if he makes the roster, but 2-3 years down the road he could end up being a really nice player.

He's also friends with Norvell (both played at Simeon in Chicago), so having him there could be good for him this summer.

I hope this pick works out for the Lakers. Either way, it will be fun seeing Lebron and AD playing together next year.

Hard to find an 18 year old master.
With the 46th pick no less.

Did we even need an 18 year old? That can’t shoot threes well. Nothing we can do about it now, but root for the kid.

Same size mittens as Kawhi too. That is insane if you think about it since he's shorter. We gonna see him palm that thing like a grapefruit and throw it down a few times this summer.

Thanks!
Would be hilarious if we ended up with DRose and Jabari Parker (both Simeon alum)

Its a late 2nd rounder. draft BPA put him in the g league. Lbj is probably not playing with 2nd rounders out of the gates if we’re to be contending.

Yep..... IMO he'll have an opportunity to cut his teeth in the G-League and maybe get called up a few times. Not a bad living for an 18 year old prospect.
The kid has potential; it's a win-win situation.

This guy will make the team- we need 13 players and if we get another max, will run out of veterans that can actually contribute only getting paid the vet min.
Even if he's the 13th man on the depth chart, he will make the team IMO.

Agree.

I'd be thrilled if at the end of the season he earned playing time in 40 games and 10mpg. About the same amount we saw Wagner last year.

He somehow finds a niche to contribute more then that would be surprising.

I heard width or length is a matter of preference. Sadly I have neither.

He is very solid, can go iso,
If he is 6’6, we would have no chance of getting him.
He is only 18, can he grow more?

FYI: @ 18 years old, THT is the youngest college prospect in the draft class.
It will take time but the kid has potential.

Freakish wingspan; physical guard, can guard multiple positions; good basketball instincts. This summer THT needs to work on his game and his body.
His ball-handling and decision-making needs improvement too. Overall a very nice pick-up @ #46.

Does anyone expect THT to play much next season? I think he's probably in the G-League for most of the season.

Depending on how creative this FO can get with the limited cap space and basically 8-9 roster spots to fill right now (assuming we keep everyone we have right now), he may have to play.

I agree. He shot 31% from NBA range last season. If he can improve on that and maybe speed up his release a bit, he can play. He already does everything else on an acceptable level for the NBA
