I’d go with Russel at the point and someone like bullock or KCP next to him. I wonder if we got D’Lo at 20 mill if we could grab KCP and Bullock at 6.5 each?

Russell/rondo (vet min)
Bullock/KCP
Bron/melo (vet min)
Kuzma/Wagner (still a first round pick. Give him a chance)
AD/ McGee (RE)

I’d be cool with a team like this. Melo can get his minutes backing up the 3/4 moving Wagner to 3rd string.

Thanks for the article EP. It pretty much spelled out most plausible scenarios. A few conclusions, also know as our opinions.

1. Leonard- Our first call. He impresses me as someone who knows what he wants, just like he does on the court. If there's a faint bit of indecisiveness, or just flat out lack of interest in joining us, move on.....quickly!

2. Irving- Our second call. Lets say he wants to come. Who says no?

3. Russell- There should be genuine interest on both parties part. A 23 year old all star? Personally I don't see him as a quote, unquote, all star, in terms of him being selected on a perennial basis, at least not yet, but he is certainly talented. A nice round number of 20mil would be idea to enable us to pursue additional help such as:

4. Beverly- I would absolutely love to have him on board. He's that kind of pest every team needs, including us.

An ultimate irony would be the return of two players whom we drafted into the league.

5. I also like Collison. Come on home-on a reasonable deal- Darren!

If not of the above, I'm wondering out loud if JJ Redick would be a target.

Depending on the numbers we need front line help. Letting Brooke get away was a bad decision. We have to get McGee to return on a reasonable deal.

Fill out the team w/Ariza, Korver, if Tyson has anything left, types

If D’Angelo Russell signed a one-year contract with the Lakers, then would he regain his bird rights? That would be three-years with the Lakers; 2016, 2017, 2020.

If this is the roster we end up with in regards to choosing russell over Irving, I would love to go this route. However, if we can end up with the same with Irving, we obviously go that route. I like the thought of having a great bench to go along with our great starting 5. Go Lakers!

Neither, since Irving won’t come and Russel most likely puts all our eggs on one player and room. If he comes for 20, Russel does make a lot of sense.

Ideally, getting Beverley and Green make us tough defensively and they can hit the open threes they will get with Bron. Along with López at center, we are set.

I don’t watch the Clippers so I am not sure if Beverley plays the point or is more of a 2 guard? If more of a 2 guard playing the point, we would need a true point guard still, especially when Bron sits. Rose, Rondo?

Hmmm, that's a good one. I'd like to have them both TBH especially for a future without LeBron.
Kyrie + DLO + Kuzma + AD

But I think if DLO came, his numbers would obviously slip not being a main guy and so would Kyrie's but Kyrie already won a title with LBJ.

Man really a toss up TBH!

Gimmie KyLO...LOL

Pretty sure it's three consecutive years. Once you sign him as a free agent, his rights come with the free agency. In this case after 2 years he is an early bird free agent. In 3 years, full bird.

Can’t believe I’m saying this , cuz I really don’t like the guy but Beverly is more of the kind of player that we need. Also I would try to keep Caruso. Honestly what we have seen in limited mins for Caruso I dont really see Mr. “ ice in my veins” being a whole lot better for the $$. Better to use $$ to flesh out the rest of the roster with more quality players....after all there is only one ball....no pun intended .

Oh and a side note, wouldn’t it be kinda cool to see both Robin & Brook on the same team

One executive said: "They're both divas, but Irving takes it to another level. Russell may be high-maintenance, but he's no Kyrie."

Love that quote.

Russell was an AllStar in the L-East!

He would NOT be an AllStar in the West, like Kyrie would most likely be!!

DLo is garbage. Getting rid of him was the best long term move Magic made while he was here.

I don't think it would be wise for the Lakers to give Russell a low ball offer, especially after they traded him and Magic made negative comments about him on the way out. What we need to do is offer him the full max. Think about how idiotic it would be if the Lakers go to him and ask him to take 20 million. Just give him the full max and be done with it.

Would rather take Elfrid Payton and rebuild the roster with shooters and good bigs around AD and LBJ that way.

Yah. But to answer the question, probably Kyrie as the team is obviously in win now mode, and he's clearly the better player.

I'm warming up to DLO especially if it comes with depth. I'd try to sign him and keep Bullock and KCP since we can exploit the cap rules with them and maximize our remaining space. Then grab a center with the room MLE and maybe Korver + JR as rumored with the minimum.

Room MLE, (Davis), Wagner
Davis, Kuzma, (LBJ)
LBJ, Korver/JR
Bullock, KCP
DLO, Caruso
