Perms, Ripple, elbow patches, Elvis movies, bell bottoms (esp men's), hickeys, bed spreads, 4/8 track/cassette/VHS/Beta tapes and players, TV's with indoor antennas, Tommy guns, and just about anything from the 1950's besides the music. Now if we want to really go back, I'd start with slavery, the treatment of native Americans bordering on genocide, the woman's place as it was and her inability to vote, and men wearing those god-awful wigs, especially the French.

I am guessing there were many instances of people thinking they were doing good work, only to later learn their waterbed had a leak. BTW, I saw something recently that suggested they were making a comeback.
