I only saw the first half but Howard was just there, not doing much on defense or offense. Hopefully he brought more in the second half.

I looked a little closer at him in the game, can't remember if it was first or second half, he's borderline elite when he defends the pick and roll. Man to man defense is above average...

He made opponents change their shots at least 4 times. I can not believe the hops he still has.

Howard is one of the league leaders in FG% and FG% in the paint. But the offense is just a bonus when we get it. We do not really look for him too much on O.

The defense is just a marvel sometimes. When I watch AD and Dwight play D, I am amazed at how gifted they are. I do not want to sound like a Laker homer, but they are so dominant defensively. We can make a team afraid of taking any shot in the paint, even the superstars.

I'm with you Wolf...I love the AD, Bron Dwight line-up...defensively it's the best in the league IMO.

Dwight is having a career high in offense rating per 100 possessions, at 123.
He is also having a career high in FG%.

His BPM is the highest it has been in 6-7 years.
His win shares also highest it has been in almost a decade.

He's basically giving you impact off the bench of an all-star version of himself. You see when he gets touches, he will get you 20 points easily. At first it looked like he couldn't be the same guy he once was, but very few games into the RS, it proved to be just game rust. I don't know if he can do it in 30 minutes a game. He's looking like this playing 20 a night. It allows him to go all out. Not sure at his age if he can do it for 30-35. That would make him an elite player again, which I don't think he is.

I do wish we use him more on offense than we have. He is open on a lot of the rolls and we should keep looking to run plays where he sets a screen and then rolls. Teams are having a lot of trouble with that play. I rather see us look for those plays than settle for 3s. I even think we should through the ball into the post to him a few times a game, when they put a really small guy on him. He has a great post base and has shown that he can score with his left hand. McGee and Dwight are being under utilized on this team, IMO.

That guy is shooting 75% from the field for the season, rebounding and blocking shots like a mad man, all on a non-guaranteed minimum deal. Ridiculous.

0 from the FT line, that isn’t acceptable. 50% from Lebron isn’t either.

And for those that care - Melo is not doing so well when you look beyond his PPG stat.

He has a 99 O rating per 100 possessions.
110 D rating per 100.
-3.7 BPM
Win shares of 0.03

So it's not like we just signed a name, we went with a guy that we worked out, and knew was in shape, and was going to be a monster for the role we had planned for him, and if not, cut.
