BAM HOPES TO PLAY GAME 3

You will note that this is *Bam wants* to play game 3, not the team or the organization or the medical staff saying anything about him playing game three.

Per Haynes (Yahoo! article at link)

Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo (neck strain) tells @YahooSports he plans to return for Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Sunday. sports.yahoo.com/heat-star-bam-…

I hope so, Olynyck was an All Star out there spacing the floor for them. I'll take a banged up Bam going against AD and Dwight in the paint all day.

WAITING FOR INFO ON DANNY

ICYMI - Here is what the status was as of last night. Should get more info today.

Per Goon

Frank Vogel said Danny Green was battling a hip injury -- he looked a little tender after taking a spill in the second quarter. That was part of the decision to play JR Smith in the third quarter.

https://twitter.com/kylegoon/status/1312241938725310466?s=21

Lakers PR clarify Green's ailment as "hip tightness" and he'll be re-evaluated tomorrow.

INJURIES FROM THE OTHER SIDE- UPDATES

Per Faigen

Bam and Dragic are both being listed as doubtful for tomorrow's game. The Lakers have not submitted their injury report yet (which is normal for the day after a game).

INJURIES FROM OUR SIDE - UPDATES

Per Faigen (IR press release at link)

The Lakers just sent in their injury report and it's the same as last game. Danny Green's hip -- which Frank Vogel said was nothing him last night -- is not on it.

DANNY ON HIS INJURIES/STATE OF HEALTH

Per Faigen (read full response at link)

Danny Green is dealing with an unnamed hip injury and has been on the injury report with a finger injury (volar plate) for the last several games, so I asked him how close he is to where he wants to be physically right now.

This was his answer:

“ I am not worried about my body right now. I’ll worry about it when it’s over. We’ve got to win two more games and then I can rest it as long as I want to. It’s coming towards the end and I think a lot of guys have bumps and bruises…“

NO BAM NO DRAGIC - STILL

Per Faigen

Bam Adebayo really wants to play, to the point of even warming up before the game. But Erik Spoelstra said he’s holding him and Goran Dragic out due to concern for their health, calling it "one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make."

https://twitter.com/hmfaigen/status/1312875230365245440?s=21

Per Trudell

Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic remain out for the Heat in Game 3.

MORE ON THE MEDIA BELABORING THE FACT THAT BAM AND DRAGIC ARE OUT

Per Faigen (full quote from Spo at link)

This was not an easy decision for the Heat

Per Spears

https://twitter.com/marcjspears/status/1313178402044751872?s=21

++++++++++++++++++++

Per Miami Heat

“I’m getting better. It’s up to the medical staff… I’m trying to get back as quickly as possible. It’s really day-to-day. When they say I’m ready to play I’ll be out there.” - Bam Adebayo (neck strain) on his status

https://twitter.com/miamiheat/status/1313176724687982593?s=21

“I’m doing everything I can do. It does feel better than when it happened but we’ll see. I don’t have a timetable yet... the only thing I can do right now is be on top of my treatments. I’m doing that 24/7.” - Goran Dragic (foot) on his status

I WATCHED GORAN'S PRESS AVAILABILITY

So I watched Goran's press availability since I'm working from home today and here's what was said:

- He'd been dealing with foot issues throughout the Playoffs and just playing through the pain.

- It's not the type of injury that can "get worse" per se if he were to play again because it's already the maximum bad that it can be.

- Some days it feels better, some days it feels the same as when it first happened. Therefore it's hard for anyone to put a real timetable on it.

- It's really a matter of pain for him. He doesn't want to be a liability to his team. Sometimes he can run and push off OK and other times he just can't.

- He's clearly super sad. He said he's been waiting for this chance his entire career and he's asked "the big guy above" why this had to happen now

- He should come to the Lakers next season to give himself the best chance to make it back to the Finals next season. OK, he didn't say that part I did, but it's true tho.

Get Well Soon Goran!

DANNY SEZ

https://twitter.com/RadRivas/status/1313196492161572864?s=20

Danny Green says this has been the most difficult championship run for him, personally:

"It's been one of my toughest years mentally and emotionally. I'm going through it."

LEBRON SEZ

Per Trudell

LeBron asked about his body, in the context of all the time off from March to June, and how he feels now: "I’m in great shape, I bounce back very well in between games, and I could play right now*, at a high level.”

VOGEL SEZ (About Danny)

Per Faigen

Frank Vogel says that Danny Green "has some tightness in his hip" but says it's "not an injury" and that Green is still "good to go."

He says the training staff is just trying to keep it loose, and isn't sure if it's affecting Green's play, if at all.

MINUTE BY MINUTE BY MINUTE BY MINUTE HEAT ARE HOLDING ON

Per Oram

"We are literally minute to minute with this," Erik Spoelstra says as he tells reporters he doesn't have a definitive answer on whether Bam and Dragic will play. "We're ready either way," he said.

https://twitter.com/billoram/status/1313619546075324417?s=21

Per Trudell

Heat coach Eric Spoelstra said it’s “Minute to minute” as to whether Bam or Dragic will play. Sounded like Bam is closer, and there was a report earlier today that Bam will attempt to play. But officially, Miami has yet to make that decision.

GORAN ON THE OTHER HAND...

Per Shams

Heat’s Goran Dragic will not play in Game 4 of NBA Finals against the Lakers, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Dragic attempted to play on torn plantar fascia, warmed up pregame.

https://twitter.com/shamscharania/status/1313626313715077122?s=2

Per Reynolds

Goran Dragic went laterally once in an effort to guard Chris Quinn during the warmup. Those three or four steps ended the workout and made it clear.
