I do not see many Linzers in local bakeries nor do I meet a lot of people from Austria?
I really questioned the whole list, then I saw WV's was the "Chocolate Saltine Toffee". While I have never eaten one of these or even seen them in WV....it does kind of sound like an easy to make low cost treat. A common trait among WV food favorites is that they are easy to make from common household ingredients (not requiring additional expense) and easy to transport into the coal mines. For example, the Linzer would likely not be an idea treat to take into the coal mines. |
