When is he ever going to work on his outside shooting in the off-season ?lol
“There used to be conversations if I was a ball hog, but now I lead the league in assists for the past three years or whatever it is, that’s getting squashed out, So now the conversation is about shooting. Next year I’m going to become a better shooter." - 2019 exit interview, Russell Westbrook
He proceeded to shoot 25.8% from 3 the season after that. Don't hold your breath. _________________ Plan A - Schroder/Hield/Lebron/AD/Gasol
Plan B- Schroder/Powell/Lebron/AD/Gasol

It’s a wonder that he made all those All-Star teams and has those crazy all-time ranking in points
I found this video on AD/LBJ/Westbrook highlights in the all star game together.
I don't know how it will work, but what I like about these highlights, you can see how on some plays the ball moves so fast between the 3.
For example, look around 2 minute mark. You will see Westbrook starts to drive and passes out to LBJ who than does a no look pass to AD under the rim.
These are but small glipses of the possible chemistry they could have.
My guess is they may have felt some chemistry with each other in these small amount of games together. Who knows.

Alot of the non-Laker fans clowning us for getting a third star will turn into ghosts when we pound their squad into dust when we see them this upcoming season.
Outside of Brooklyn. I don't see us having a competitive playoff series.
Your enthusiasm has me convinced. I'm all in.
If we were healthy, this past season would have been a rout. That seems true to me every year, no matter who you place around LBJ/AD. Bonus when that motley crew is Russ and a band of quasi-high character vets chasing credibility in the twilight of their careers. (In their hometown to boot...)
Playoff assist numbers this year:
Assist per game: 11.8.
Potential assists: 20.4 (rank #1. #2 was Trae at 17.4)
Assisted points created: 29.8 (rank #1. #2 was Dame at 27.3)
Numbers should drop on the Lakers though with less opportunities to handle. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!
Interesting podcast by Pete/GT, discussing Westbrook trade. Worth a listen if you havent.
Some interesting tidbits:
-Just about every positive, or negative, view on how this works with Westbrook is correct.
-Two different views of how to build out rest of team. One is get shooters. The other? Get more defenders so team can get out on the break.
-Westbrook adds a physicality to the team, he and LBJ will put constant pressure on rim

After listening to the podcast, I feel like the Lakers should maybe emphasize offense a little more than defense in free agency. They said that if you get offensive guys who are capable of defending, the coaching staff can take care of the defense.
We know that Vogel and Co. are not good at coaching offense, especially halfcourt offense. So let's just double down on our transition game and 3-point shooting to make their job of trying to coach offense easier.

That drop should be mitigated some by the fact that the Lakers have two elite tier finishers. _________________ KOBE

Its almost like some people want Westbrook and the team at large to fail to validate their theories. _________________ Don't let perfect be the enemy of good

You feel like you are drinking the purple and gold Kool-Aide , we all just hope we see a better version of Westbrook, a guy who will buy into the system and not just "do me." _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions!
Anyone want to venture a guess at what Wade shot from three when he played with LeBron (or for his career)? _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night.
WOW ... I never knew this story, sorry full article is ESPN +
Kawhi Leonard is an SOB.....
An excerpt:
Westbrook had become a father of three the previous November, and while he'd made a home and carved a Hall of Fame legacy in Oklahoma City, the chance to live and play in Los Angeles, where grandparents and his large extended family and friends could visit every day, held deep appeal.
Teaming up with Leonard would be the fastest way there, so he placed the call, according to multiple sources. But Leonard didn't just take the call as one native son of Los Angeles to another, ponder it and file it away.
He used it.
According to multiple sources, Leonard then called Westbrook's teammate in Oklahoma City, Paul George, and told him he'd rather team up with him on a homecoming.
George had always longed to play in front of his family as well but had formed a close bond with Westbrook in their two seasons together in Oklahoma City and was content to stay.
...........
Westbrook's homecoming trade to the Lakers on Thursday evening wasn't two weeks in the making. It was two years in the making.
