Bamba's the kind of player that was in a terrible situation for development in Orlando and has to play catchup. BUT with what he already has, his shot blocking potential and his three point shooting are already two things it's great for him to have at this point.
If the "least" we can expect from him at this point is shot blocking, finishing lobs and three point shooting. That is a pretty solid have. He is still only 24 years old and has lots of room to grow. But what he has right now, three point shooting, finishing ability, blocking shots. That's the bare minimum he's operating from. So he can only add to it. But currently what he does at bare minimum, is what the Lakers have been desperately needing in combination from a big other than Anthony Davis. So that's why he's a great get. Even tonight, off the bench with 3 blocks. If he progresses and becomes even half of what his potential projected him to be, he'll be essentially what JaVale was for us but with three point shooting and younger. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Lonnie's been our 3rd best player all season. So no, he doesn't and hasn't. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

He really will be. He just either has to beat out Troy or politely ask for a buy out. Either way is good for the Lakers. If he replaces Troy that means he’s playing great basketball. If he asks for a buyout they lower their spending and come off as a front office that respects players reputation wise
Well Lonnie’s terrible defense has left us Lakers fans unhappy all damn season!!!
Well tbf maybe not all his fault Lonnie was getting cooked, Darvin was playing him at small forward a ton throughout this madness
I’m pumped for the Warriors game next Thursday... I hope LeBron doesn’t play to many minutes in the all star game, we need him fresh for the post all star break run

And some four guard sets too. He’ll Troy Brown played a ton of pf this year. Ugh

Agreed. Earlier in the season, Lonnie and Reaves were the Lakers best players after LeBron and AD. Lonnie was the teams third leading scorer, before he went out with injury. Despite his inconsistent defense, he is still a very good offensive player. And, if he was someone who was going to be a part of this teams future, he would still be getting playing time. He's still plus player.
But, Lonnie is in the same position as Bryant was. Someone who has way outplayed the value of the MLE contract. It's a shame that he's buried so far down the bench. But, the Lakers are not going to be able to retain him. So, it doesn't make sense to keep playing him, over other guys who are more likely to be a part of the team, in the future.
Lonnie can't be happy, but he'll be fine. Another guy who's going to see a minutes crunch is Wenyen. Hate it for him, too. _________________ ZOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish the Lakers could have flipped him for a 3rd PG and 3rd C...unless he outplays TBjr at SF or Reaves at SG he is out of the rotation. _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. Who cares, he sucks.
I care, and he doesn't suck. Lonnie's given us lots of good minutes when the roster was beyond terribad and not setup for success. I agree with Kblo247! that he will either earn the right to steal somebody's minutes which is great or he'll get bought out and then he can go to a situation that works best for him which is also great. There is no need to throw shade at Lonnie.

Lonnie is a victory cigar at this point. _________________ 14-5-3-12

I want to see him against another legit Big Man Center, La Bamba is a big kid I wanna see how he takes it whenever another big man tries to take it to him
We can’t keep him, so whatever. His play didn’t warrant minutes since his game didn’t match what we need. His defense was truly awful and his three ball was iffy and he is just too small.

Yep. There's no space for him as things stand. So hopefully he and the team can work something out. I just read Kevin Love is taking a buyout from the Cavs which is crazy to me So ya never know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We had a chance to trade him at the 11th hour but choose to keep him, even dumping him for a couple of seconds would have been good for both parties, I could see Lonnie’s agent asking for a buy out for his client

Little bit of meat left on the bone, but still an awesome trade deadline
We basically transformed our whole team
Yep, agree..I'm being unreasonable greedy asking for more! Got a good get! _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. I didn’t see that this off season.”
