Apparently, another unfathomable event has happened in the USA.
This time in Nashville, shooter was female.

What's the solution? To solve we must address the reason. IMO the crux of the problem lies in mental health. Also, access to guns has to be addressed. Shooter was armed with assault weapons.

Monday morning's shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, is the 129th mass shooting in the US so far in 2023, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive.

Our children should die of old age not while getting an education.

As First Lady Jill Biden said, "Our Children Deserve Better."

Now, again, starts the ban on assault weapons and mental health debates. Rinse and repeat.

My condolences go out to those who lost loved ones. 🙏🏾

This quote was posted today before this shooting

Quote:
Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

It is mental health that allows an individual to choose to extinguish their anger through murder of innocents and obviously the ease at which guns are readily available

Why is it America who has so many mentlally ill? Is it due to our government keeping most of us poor and in debt for their overlords? Allowing public servants (Police) to murder you based on your color?

The suspect in Monday's deadly school shooting was a former student who had maps of The Covenant School, Nashville Police Chief John Drake said.

Audrey Hale, 28, who police said was a transgender woman, had conducted surveillance and prepared for the attack with detailed maps, officials said. Police said the shooter had a manifesto, the contents of which were not released.

Hale had attended the school as a child but police did not detail which grades.

Hale shot through a door to gain access to the school, Drake said.

The shooter, Drake said, was “prepared for a confrontation with law enforcement” and “prepared to do more harm."

The shooter was armed with two semiautomatic AR-15-style rifles as well as a handgun. At least two of the three guns had been lawfully purchased, Drake said.

There was that couple from the San Bernardino shootings a few years back. As far as a solo shooter you might be right.

How long before conservatives use this as an opportunity to attack trans people as a whole and claim that this is evidence that being trans is a mental disorder?

After posting that I did a google search. I found there have been 6 female mass shooters. I should have done a search before making that post. LINK When will the proverbial straw break the camels back?

Politicians, community leaders, parents, and the media are all saying things need to change. That's a given. When will those with the power to cause change stand up, use that power, do the right thing, and make a change? When will the proverbial straw break the camel's back?

Drove by a fire station today and saw the flags were at half staff once again. Seems like all the time now. Sad that nothing will happen in the aftermath once again while more people are sent to slaughter.

Mental health problems exist world wide. If the crux of the problem was mental health, we'd see many more incidents world wide.

The correlation is to gun availability, not to mental health.

You have a valid point. I may have put the cart before the horse. Since the shooting, the media has been all about gun control as expected. Rinse and repeat.

There is no “solution.” At least on any reasonable time scale. The only possible solution would be to get rid of the damn guns, but that ship sailed in this country a long time ago. Guns are far too ingrained into the culture in this country for the overall public feeling towards them to change enough to get politicians to act.

If Sandy Hook wasn’t enough to change anything, nothing ever will be. Look how Ulvade quickly faded from public consciousness after the initial outage about the police there subsided.

Reportedly this shooter was deterred from a different school due to the security at that school. Maybe the government could merge the school shooting problem and the veteran problem by hiring vets to guard schools. But since there was no way that a politician could receive kickbacks from that, it wouldn’t be supported.

Any links on this?

Because the shooter used to be a student at this particular school, and I've heard that one possible motive was she was targeting the pastor and actually killed his daughter.

But, could be wrong:

Quote:
Pastor walks back claim Audrey Hale was undergoing counseling with man whose daughter she killed

A former pastor at the school where Nashville shooter Audrey Hale killed six people on Monday claimed she was being couseled by Chad Scruggs, the father of one of the victims, only to later say he had been mistaken.

Jim Bachmann said in an interview with Inside Edition that Hale appeared to be searching for Scruggs, the current pastor at the Covenant School, in surveillance footage the police released.

However, when approached by The Post on Wednesday, Bachmann said he had since realized he was wrong.

“I understand that they were not counseling, actually,” Bachmann said.

“I think there’s just some confusion because she had, years earlier.

“But these last two days, I’ve had several messages from an assortment of people that not only was there no counseling between those two, that he didn’t even know her,” Bachmann said.

Bachmann confirmed that representatives from Covenant, a private Christian school, had been in touch to tell him him he was incorrect, and added that he had been influenced by social media and the way he had perceived surveillance video of Hale released by the police.

He added that since making the claims, he had been contacted by various people who worked at the school who had assured him that Scruggs was not counseling Hale.

One of Hale’s victims was 9-year-old Hallie Scruggs, the current pastor’s daughter.

Bachmann said he reached out to Scruggs after the tragedy and he had texted him back saying “God is good.” Scruggs did not reach out to Bachmann following his interview.

My first thought when it was a religious school was maybe they were sexually abused

Definitely definitely not the only cover-up
How is it the mainstream media hasn't brought any of this up

NASHVILLE (CN) - A Presbyterian church covered up for a "confessed child molester," and "in cult-like fashion" put children in the molester's so-called "safe house," a family claims in court.

Another sad outcome from all of the mass shootings is that if kids arent involved, no one cares.

banks have armed guards. Maybe that talking point of arming everyone needs to be tweaked.

Yep.

There were armed TSA agents at the LAX shooting a few years back . . .

There was an armed guard at Parkland school (who did nothing) . . .

There were armed guards all over the Mirage hotel . . .

Guns as deterrent/protection doesn't do anything

Kinda true.

They cared about the Chinese NY shootings in Monterey Park. They cared about the Vegas shooting at Mandalay Bay.

But yeah, there's a heightened level of caring when it comes to small children, no doubt.

America made itself clear in 2012 with Sandy Hook - not even the slaughter of their own beautiful white babies will get them to change course.

The gun control debate has BEEN over.

look at the Tenn. shooting at a school. The narrative was about the shooter and being trans more than kids. Thats all about the GOP and their ability to control narrative. Along with being burntout on mass shootings.
