This (bleep) hurts. Arclight theaters (particularly the Sunset/Dome location) were my favorite place to watch movies due to how much they respected the screening experience. They had the best hardware and the best customer service. I was really looking forward to enjoying a movie there as an official milestone for the end of COVID. _________________ http://chickhearn.ytmnd.com/

This is huge. Arclight is/was the real thing—total cut above just going to a movie house. A real bummer. I have to imagine someone will come along and save The Dome, so many memories there, like sneaking in to see Apocalypse Now the week it was released. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

One of the activities I miss the most is going to the movies, especially at this time of year. Hopefully, a few of these companies survive the pandemic and can keep these historic theaters alive. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant
shame. I grew up a few apts off hollywood blvd and Van Ness. Losing theatres this iconic is a shame and unfortunately kids today have no idea how the movie experience used to be and should be.

Yeah, depressing.
Like you said, I got to think someone will be looking into what it would take to keep it.
I had a lot of really nice memories with Pacific Theaters...Spent some nice time there with friends, dates, etc. I remember when they opened in Winnetka - Te screens were massive. It's definitely sad to see this.
The large movie theaters were able to survive by issuing and selling more shares of their stock, as well as convertible bonds. Arclight just didn't have the same access to capital, and had no way to survive. I think we'll have more smaller theaters follow suit.

Saw a rerun of Best Thing I Ever Ate on Foodchan on their car'mel corn. It was supposed to be the end-all of carmel corn. RIP. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL SEDALE TRIBUTE EDDIE DONX!
i have feeling Tarantino will buy the Dome.
Call it a hunch.
Buying the single screen New Bev and buying the Dome are two very different magnitudes of purchases. If the Dome/Arclight are to be revived it will take serious cash. _________________ 14-5-3-12

I said the dome, I'm sure he has no interest in the garish, never should have been built, Arclight section and with creative renovation- The Dome could be separated and the other theaters repurposed like the old Galaxy theater on Hollywood Blvd. that became an LA fitness lol. _________________ Creatures crawl in search of blood, To terrorize y'alls neighborhood.
Was it Covid that did them in or were they struggling before hand? I'm really f'en bummed out as the Dome was on my bucket list of local stuff to knock out. _________________ KOBE
Unfortunate. Love the going to the movie experience and these theaters were part of that. _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. He truly has no idea that he’s not as good as he thinks." - Killer_Z

Someone may keep it open Jonny as a new buyer, so there is that _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. He truly has no idea that he’s not as good as he thinks." - Killer_Z
