Well he beats women and also sucks. But is also probably the best backup C we could get with the minimum. I hope Castleton turns out to be serviceable because I don't particularly want to root for this dude.

I know right? I thought the Lakers took character into account. This guy belongs on the Clippers.

Don’t like this

Quote:
Hayes -- the eighth overall pick out of Texas in the 2019 NBA draft -- pleaded no contest on Feb. 24 to misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment and resisting an officer.

Hayes, 22, also will be ordered to pay yet-to-be-determined restitution, said Los Angeles City Attorney's Office spokesman Rob Wilcox.

Hayes was arrested on July 28, 2021, when police responded to a 3 a.m. domestic disturbance call.

Police body camera video showed Hayes scuffling with officers and being hit twice with an electronic stun gun after they ordered him out of the home while they sought to question a woman inside.

Hayes told officers the woman was his girlfriend and that she had been "throwing some stuff" at him while they argued.

Hayes was treated at a hospital after the altercation. An officer thrown against a wall by Hayes was treated for an elbow injury.

I was very excited about the prospect of Bamba, whenever we brought him in, but in retrospect, even when Bamba was healthy, Wenyen Gabriel was playing over him. That should really tell you something about what Darvin ham wants on the floor. He likes high energy guys.

Well, to be fair, the few times we saw Bamba he was a No Energy Guy

On the bright side, I'm sure Bamba goes down after the first shot with the stun gun.

Love this signing. Young athletic big that can learn from AD, how to be a defensive monster. He can actually mimic AD’s athletically on Def. This guy can change from end to end in a blur and can sky with the best of them. He comes in with a lot of energy, seems like every one we picked has this kind of motor. Mo is tall but motor is a old 4 cylinder. Spacing might be a problem, but if you can get him to develop defensively what a bargain.

Maybe he can falsely imprison Jokic.

If he can’t figure it out and do well in a situation like this, then I don’t even know. AD as a mentor, Handy as a development coach, Ham as a culture leader, LeBron’s status alone. If there’s a situation to do a 180 and rehab your reputation, then there couldn’t be a better fit.

Hopefully he understands this as well. It seems like a pretty low-risk, high-reward signing to me.

I hope he sees this as an opportunity and not another pit stop, now that he's in the biggest market, with millions of people watching worldwide. He could net a much larger contract if he plays to his potential. He's certainly on the same level as Mitchell Robinson or better when he's locked in. That's what he should aim for, which is a reachable goal for him.

I watched Hayes a lot when I was following BI.

He's got a lot of raw physical talent but it never amounted to much.

However, if we are trying to recreate the twin tower days of Dwight and McGee... I think he's fully capable of filling the McGee role... but we really need Brook to take Dwight's place.

I mean, I'd still give Dwight a minimum if we can't get Brook.

He shot above his career average in his last year.

I still wonder what that beef between Dwight and AD was... Dwight never quite recovered from that and seemed to always be in the doghouse after that scuffle.

Not a fan of this move. Character matters.

Should've just re-signed Bamba IMO.

McGee recovered brilliantly from his Shaqtin' reputation into a 3x NBA World Champion and an Olympic Gold whereas Jaxson still has to overcome his off court demons and living up to his lotto pick level status.

Agreed. I haven’t seen his game but based on the video a freakish verticals.

So protect the rim fine and get some easy dunks FROM LBJ DLO AND VINCENT. No reason he can’t be a good backup center and give AD some rest

The lobs off the pick and roll is about to be crazy. AD on one side, Hayes on the other.
