Wouldn’t shock many people if he becomes the ace of the staff this year, especially with Yamamoto figuring things out with the ball. |

I think it is pretty clear Glasnow is our likely ace this year but having multiple guys who could be that is a good problem to have!

| Gonna be a tough game for Yamamoto today. Cardinals will do whatever it takes to avoid losing 3 straight and Yamamoto is struggling lately. |

It's interesting how so many of our prospects now have good changeups:

I’m just not confident he is ready yet. I thought it was a great move to push him back in the rotation. |

| The Angels are getting obliterated 13-1 at Baltimore at the end of 8 innings and will be 0-2. It's going to be a long, long, LONG year for them. The Angels are probably only better than the A's and probably the White Sox in MLB, and that's about it. Trout has to ask out. Get him to a winning team before the deadline. It won't be us (Arte won't do that), but it could be the Braves or Padres or some other NL team that is competition for us. |

They obviously have the prospects to get him. Actually, I don't think he would get a gargantuan prospect return, given the term remaining on his contract. It would be more about, what team is willing to take on that term? I'm not sure if the Braves would, but maybe. I think a team like the Phillies totally would. That's his hometown team, they certainly could have an opening in the outfield (I'm sure they could bump one of Marsh or Rojas), and we know they were in on Yamamoto so they still have plenty of cash to burn. The hype would be out of control if they got him in Philly, and it's the type of move that Dombrowski is totally known for. |

Yeah, there's no way the Braves acquire Trout. They had the no. 1 offense last yr, record breaking offense. They're not looking to upgrade their offense. They're going to add pitching if anything.
Plus, Michael Harris is in CF, Acuna is in RF. Only LF is available.
Trout makes $35.45M for the next 7 years. That's $248M total.
That's a ton to pay someone in LF. |

| Trout gets hurt a lot too. If he plays the full season I would be surprised. Picking him up at this point could be like when the Angels picked up Pujols after his prime. |

I really could see the Phillies doing it. The hype there would be insane. Prodigal son comes home, joins Harper and Turner. Schwarber hits close to 40 bombs a year. One of the best catchers. Bohm and Stott are solid regulars. They would be very formidable, and I know they choked last postseason in the NLCS but this a team built for the postseason, with Wheeler-Nola as a strong 1-2.
Would totally be a Dombrowski all-in move. |

This season is the most excited I’ve been for regular season baseball. I snuck out to Grand Central Market for opening day. Cheering every pitch tonight. The Dodgers can really take the city by storm.
I went to the Kobe statue the other day and usually there are just Lakers t-shirt stands with maybe a few dodgers shirts sprinkled in. Now it’s 1 dodgers t-shirt table for every 2 lakers tables outside staples. |

Kelly is prone to those implosions, unfortunately. As to why Yamamoto was lifted, there was a 35-minute rain delay, so I'm sure they didn't want to push things after he went back out there for the one inning that he did throw after the delay. The Cardinals took Lynn out, for example, as he didn't come back out for the 5th.
Muncy will probably end up with 30 homers and 90-100 RBI, but I just don't like watching him. It's just way too much swing-and-miss for me with his approach. At least I get it when Teoscar strikes out a lot. He's looking to go up there to make contact and hit the ball. Muncy is looking to work a count and yeah, the OPS will look fine at the end of the year, but I would rather sacrifice 50 points of OPS for someone who is more of a threat to actually hit the ball from AB to AB. |

| Also, for those who weren't watching, Joe Kelly's 7th inning included a catcher's interference and a balk. Good times! (At least he wasn't walking the house left and right. He wasn't sharp, but it wasn't as bad as it will look in the box score.) |
