Seems like the trend has continued this yr. Somehow, running around in the outfield takes away from his offense.

I couldn't find the stats but I found this unconfirmed stat on reddit:

Quote:
He had a 1.004 OPS as an infielder vs .969 as an outfielder. For his career, he's at .994 as an infielder and .891 as an outfielder.

This is pretty cool, and certainly seems to be working too so far

Yep, maybe after the hip thing a couple of years ago, maybe not having to take full strides in the outfield and running all-out keeps his hip feeling better, and maybe the quicker, smaller steps that you take as an infielder isn't wearing on the hip. Yeah, he's not going back to the outfield. I suppose he can go out there in the late innings if absolutely necessary, but it's not something we want to be doing often.

I'm watching the draft, but seems like we're off to a great start in this one.

He said that just the running back and forth between innings was more wearing on him.

Lux still showing zero power, but nice to see him actually picking up some base hits in the last 2-3 games. Perhaps he's coming out of it. Even though he was once a top prospect in all of baseball, it's not like we need the guy to be a star. We just need him to be a solid contributor, like he was in 2022. Still, I wouldn't be opposed to dealing him while he has a lot of service time left. I'm just not sure he will ever drive the ball consistently, and I'd much prefer to move Mookie back to second base.

Taylor 0-for-2 with a strikeout off the bench. When there's a roster crunch, I just don't know how he can keep a roster spot. Either invent an IL stint or cut the cord.

Stone's 7 innings of 2-run ball lowers his ERA to 4.68. Given how pathetic he was last season, at least he's been somewhat adequate this year. Baby steps?

Yeah I don’t see him sticking around much longer.

His body language as someone noted earlier has been concerning too. I know he’s struggling but you can’t be moping around.

He made a bunch of money from us and had some epic moments but it’s time now. There will be no room for him.

Just looked up CT's salary. Yikes. Who did we let walk the year we decided to give him 60 mil?

Ironically, Kike and Taylor were both FA's, and the thinking at the time was that we could only keep one. Taylor ended up getting paid more than Kike, of course, and Taylor was more useful than Kike was up until this season. Still, given the contract...not good. But oh well, a contract like this doesn't cripple the Dodgers. If we need to cut him, we can cut him and eat the money. At least we aren't talking about a Rendon-like contract or something.

Shout out to the young arms for giving us a shot in the arm lately. Talking about:

Quote:
- Gavin Stone
- Landon Knack

We've really needed it

No question. Stone is the polar opposite of Grove, he just finds a way to pitch well.

From what I remembered, Kike was a free agent a yr before Taylor was.

The timeline that I remembered went like this:

Quote:
- We knew Kike and Taylor's free agency were coming up (Kike in 2021 and Taylor in 2022).

- So, in 2020, we tried to replace at least one of them by trading Stripling and Pederson to the Angels for Luis Rengifo.

- When that trade failed, we had a plan B.

- Zach McKinstry was going to replace Kike. So we let Kike walk and gave the job to McKinstry. He couldn't hit nor play D. (This was 2021).

- So, when Taylor became a free agent in 2022, we kept him at all costs since we failed to replace them with cheaper alternatives.

Yes, you're right, my mistake. Kike departed before the 2021 season, and Taylor was re-signed after the 2021 season.

CT3 has deserved enough of a rope for at least half a season to try to get back on track. If he hasnt figured it out then, we need to designate him for assignment with the goal of keeping him and having him work out his issues in the minors.

If ever there was a need for a "slump buster" or maybe let's make that plural, Mr. Taylor is the guy.

Yeah, but...

(Now list the bottom 4, or the not-so-big 4, as it were.)

Everyone’s favorite Angel is seriously hurt. Again. Torn hamstring this time. Should give him plenty of time to brush up on his English.

LINK

I can’t fathom how this guy is ALWAYS hurt. Each time I see his name, I am ever so grateful he had no interest in signing with us.

Gotta love Will. Many players show up on their contract year but not Will. He gets the deal and then he shows up. Keep it up Will.
