I'm glad we have Glasnow, but man, I hated seeing us give up on Pepiot and he looks solid this yr, like he did last yr.

Still can't believe we didn't let him pitch in the playoffs.

I think we could have given up someone else instead of Pepiot for Glasnow:

Quote:
Pepiot's stats:

5 starts
28.2 ip
18 H
12 BB
31 K

3.77 ERA
0.98 Whip

He might not be an ace, but this dude is going to be quite solid. And he doesn't throw that hard so his arm will probably last.

Hate giving him up. Dude's going to eat alot of innings for many years.

Pages is this year's Bellinger/Puig.

I remember we were struggling when we brought those 2 up. They were a huge shot in the arm and ignited the team.

Puig in came up in 2013 and I think we went on a 43-7 run, or something.

Bellinger came up in 2017 and we went on to the WS.

I absolutely hate Grove. Dude's an automatic L pretty much every time he enters the game.

This is one of the downsides of having Yamamoto on the team this year.

We're forced to put him on a 6 man rotation so we have to endure days like this where we have to send Grove out there for an automatic L.

Down 3-0. If we win this game then there should be some good QFTOS LBP.

Our big 3 doesn't look too pumped up today and our 4th has a day off. With a BP game today I don't feel confident.

Of course Grove costs us the sweep. He can’t pitch.

The Angels have fallen to 10-18. The White Sox are 6-22. And I hadn't realized that the Astros are 9-19...which includes winning their last 2! I still expect Houston to get it together, but it's likely that the Angels, White Sox, Oakland (12-17), and Miami (6-23) will get raided by teams looking for upgrades.

Does Oakland have anything else left to raid?

I thought they traded all of their vets already?

Just checked out their payroll.

Somehow they have Stripling ($12.5M) and Wood ($8.5M) on their roster.

Everyone else makes $3M or under.

Some updates, per Dave Roberts from Jack Harris:

–– The team has gotten positive reports on Blake Treinen's rehab stint (both with how he's feeling, and how he has pitched). His next minor league outing will be Wednesday, so he probably remains at least a week away from returning

–– Jason Heyward has again been paused from baseball activities. He still isn't bouncing back as well as hoped, so his timeline is TBD. Roberts acknowledged it's taking "longer than we all anticipated"

–– The team has not yet decided if Walker Buehler's rehab start tomorrow will be his last. They want to want and see how it goes/how he feels

"I don't want to put any extra expectation on Walker. Go out there, pitch well, get out of it healthy and then we'll make the next move."

We've also IL'd Brasier (right calf strain) and recalled Varland. Let's hope we don't have to use him.

The Marlins are 6-24 after losing to the Nationals today. I'm not sure if I've mentioned Luis Arraez as a potential trade target. We'd have to keep Mookie at SS, but man, this dude is a .324 lifetime hitter. He's not hitting for any power so far this year but he's still at .303 so far, he's 27 years old, and since he's a free agent after the '25 season, you have to wonder if Miami attempts to flip him at max value, with this year going off the rails for them already.

He's never struck out more than 48 times in a season. How about adding the modern day Rod Carew as the #7 hitter in your batting order?

James Paxton getting by with smoke and mirrors so far this season.

Coming into today:

Quote:
2.61 ERA
1.55 Whip

20.2 ip
15 H
17 BB
11 K

17 BB in 20.2ip, wow!

3ip today, 3 BB

So, total now should be:

20 BB in 23.2ip.

Paxton just gave up his 4th BB after we gave him a 6-1 lead.

Dude can't throw strikes.

And he’s looked good doing it.

Happy to see Kike get rewarded finally. He’s been hitting the ball hard..he could probably have had a few extra hits during this run of his if not for some great D.

Now we just need Outman/Heyward to get going. I’ve given up on Taylor.

I don't think Heyward is returning anytime soon.

Tonight was the first game since 2006 in which we didn't have a single batter strike out!

(@DodgerInsider) - Dave Roberts said Ryan Brasier strained his right calf running sprints before the game. He will get an MRI tomorrow.

Lux, Grove, and another prospect or 2 for Arraez and Tanner Scott. Let's go, Friedman.
