I've been watching the In Living Color series with my IPTV. It dawned on me how many careers that show launched.

Jennifer Lopez
Jim Carry
David Allen Grier
Jamie Foxx
Anne-Marie Johnson
Tommy Davidson
Chris Rock

To name a few.

The show was in an era that had many Black sitcoms.

All In The Family
The Jefferson's
Good Times
Sanford and Son
The Cosby Show
Family Matters
Nat King Cole

To name a few.

I don't think there will ever be another time that will air that many Black sitcoms at once again.

It's Black History Month (His Story) Jus sayin🖖🏾 Peace Out.

One of my favorite shows growing up. As far as those sitcoms go, only the Cosby Show and Family Matters were on at the same time as In Living Color. The rest were a nearly a decade earlier. I still have a Homie the Clown t-shirt from high school.

I was surprised that David Alan Grier and Tommy Davidson didn't take off more after In Living Color.. They were insanely talented.

If you have Youtube search Club Shay Shay. Shannon Sharpe interviews some Black entertainers who are pulling the covers off of celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry. Tommy Davidson was left behind a trash bin as a baby and adopted by the White woman who found him. I'm finding out a lot about Black entertainers, some disturbing.

Yep. I regularly listen to Shay Shay and his other show Nightcap with Ocho. I saw Tommy Davidson's interview...it was great. The Katt Williams interview was hilarious. Brutal but funny.

Some of Kat's interview was questionable. He said he was reading at age 3. I dunno. Monique's revelations about Oprah and Tyler were surprising. I think Shannon signed an extension.

Monique's discussion was really interesting, about her path, and everything. Oprah a lot is being discussed now, Taraji. Taraji and Monique both seem credible to me in their interviews in different places.

How dare you not name Living Single, jodeke!

But yes, In Living Color was outstanding. Far more entertaining than SNL.

Brother, your knowledge of Black History is fine, but your timelines are horrible! In Living Color was on from 1990-93.

Anne-Marie Johnson starred in What's Happening Now (1985-88) & In The Heat of the Night (1988-93) before ILC (1993-94), and was on TV since the 70s, not to mention movies (Hollywood Shuffle, I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, Five Heartbeats, etc.).

Ditto Chris Rock - Saturday Night Live, Krush Groove, Beverly Hills Cop II, New Jack City , etc. - all before ILC.

And, please:

All In The Family 1970s
The Jefferson's 1970s
Good Times 1970s
Sanford and Son 1970s
The Cosby Show 1980s
Family Matters
Nat King Cole 1960s

That's like 3 eras.

I would have come back sooner but Brenda died and I had to replace her. She was Ol Skool so I had to completely redo my system. Lucille is up and running. I had to start all over again because I went to Windows 11.

NOW!! I know All In The Family isn't a Black sitcom. Brain Fart. It was the reason for the Jeffersons so it was on my mind.
