In order of sport/team love:
Soccer: The People's Republic of Manchester United
NFL: Vikes (How comes there are so many Vikes fans here, haha)
NBA: Lakers
I'm not a baseball fan, but I follow the Twins. I'd throw cricket ahead of baseball most likely, in which case its the West Indies. |

Never followed the NFL until Moss was drafted (I'm from West Virginia) so I automatically started watching Minnesota. Got hooked on the team and have stuck with them ever since. No longer a big Randy fan but I don't wish physical harm on him like I do Daunte. Aside from that I expect a good year for the team this season. Definately will be some breakdowns here and there due to the new systems/coaches but overall I really expect to see a much improved defense and eventually a very solid running game. |

I was disappointed. I wanted a few fumbles and a broken leg to go along with the INT's. |

NBA- Lakers (Started watching BB about the time Magic showed up)
NFL- Da Bears (born in Wisconsin and I'm contrary)
MLB Braves (Mom loved them in Milwaukee days or I'd be a cubbie fan)
Golf- Mickelson (rooting for tiger is like rooting for MJ, too cliche for me)
Hockey- Avs (gotta root for a team who's goalie liked to pick fights) _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

Damn right it is. I use to enjoy watching the guy and rooted for him despite his mental flaws but he is a Grade A idiot.
He should be thanking his lucky stars he's even physically able to play in the NFL. However, that didn't stop him from personally thanking Chris Gamble for blowing out his knee because it got him out of Minnesota (his own words to Gamble this preseason).
I was laughing my ass off listening to the pregame hype about him being a great leader for Miami. That great leader didn't attend a single Viking game last season after his injury. Randy Moss was shipped out to pave the way so that Daunte could be the undisputed team leader yet the joke couldn't even be there for his teammates.
Hell my sports watching life seems to mimic each other. Both players I despise ends up in Miami. |

NHL - Montreal Canadiens. Pretty much forced to since they are shoved down my throat. Rebelled against liking them until 3 years ago when Saku Koivu got cancer and somehow was able to return late in the year. I was a big fan of the team that year, especially Saku. Root for him and them since.
MLB - Not a big fan of anyone, though the Yankees in the playoffs are fun to watch.
Soccer - International: Germany Football Clubs:Liverpool, Inter Milan (Have seen both teams play in person back in the late 80's/early 90's as a kid and been loyal to them since then)
Tennis - Andre Agassi. Whenever I saw Andre was on playing, I'd watch. Sucks that I don't have a favorite player anymore ... Now that the great one has retired, I guess I will watch the greatness of Federer now and then when I get a chance |

Dude - My buddy watches this sport alot. I find it interesting. I saw a game between India and I think Pakistan. It was pretty funny. The crowd was riled up as was my buddy.
The pitching is cool. You get to bounce the ball and aim at the batter.
It's too long though ....
I know some guys from the Carribian that play this at the park near my place. I tried playing once but apparently I was "chucking" when pitching.
Also if you miss you are out and can't come bat again. That sucks. I like baseball rules better |

Where I come from, cricket is religion. Probably because we suck at most other sports , but cricket players are practically worshipped there. The India-Pakistan rivalry is about as big as they come and we're talking about a billion+ fans.
Pitching or "bowling" as it's called has a bit more variety than in baseball particularly because of the one bounce the ball is allowed to take and the varied surfaces cricket is played on.
The game (especially the 5-day version) can seem a bit too long to an outsider, but those that grow up watching it seem to develop the patience necessary to enjoy it as well. And I've seen some that I've enjoyed more than buzzer-beater finishes in an NBA game.
The West Indies are historically a cricketing powerhouse and I can imagine the interest growing towards next year's World Cup in the Caribbean. It's only once in 4 years like in soccer.
Unlike baseball, you don't have to run everytime the ball is hit in play. It's like you can bunt and stay at home plate. You only run when you think you can make it to the other end in time. And you always have a teammate batting with you. So you don't face all the pitches when you're at the plate. An odd number of runs brings the other guy to the plate, and the pitchers rotate as well. It's not like baseball where you have one guy pitching a bulk of the game non-stop. My point is that one out-per-batsman is enough.
I used to hate baseball when I started watching it, but it started to grow on me in the past couple of years. And now that the Tigers are actually a decent team, I'm watching it a bit more closely. But it's still no cricket. |

You think Rubens Barrichello is mad he left Ferrari now?! Just one more string of second fiddle and he would have been the man on the most dominant team ever. Damn!
Back to the question, in no particular order:
Georgetown Basketball
Washington Redskins
Florida State Football
San Diego Padres Baseball
Calgary Flames
F1 / Open Wheel Racing
Tennis ~ Serena baby! You feeling me 999?
Rally Racing ~ those guys are psycho.
Conversely I hate the:
Cowboys ~ *itches
Duke basketball ~ see above
ANAHEIM Angels ~ will never respect the fan base after their reaction to the Donnie Moore incident
Ferrari's dominance ~ makes sport boring but is extremely impressive
Spurs ~ the organization gets my respect but the fans are POS for real. _________________ Stop crying and start doing.

Yeah. Today was an emotional day for tifosi everywhere. The big win at Monza, the lead in the constructors, and of course the big announcement that came after. Schumi has a real shot at the championship now (he's only 2 points behind Alonso with 3 races to go) and for him to have accomplished as much as he has (pretty much re-writing all the record books) and still have a chance to go out on top is just mind-boggling.
But unlike many others, I don't mind the timing of his retirement. He's given the sport all that he has, and for anyone to ask for more is just plain greedy. And it was classy of him to make his decision early enough for his teammate Massa to make his decision and Raikkonen as well. I think Ferrari is in great hands with Kimi on board. I expect Felipe to only improve after a fine season this year.
My favorite Finn though will always be Mika Hakkinen. I only started watching in 1998 and thoroughly enjoyed those epic battles he had with Schumi (McLaren vs. Ferrari). He was a class act and I was saddened by his retirement. That overtaking maneuver he pulled on Michael on the other side of Zonta in the 2000 Belgian GP was the best I've ever seen.
Now that Raikkonen has decided to join Ferrari, and Alonso's signed with McLaren, I think Kovalainen will be with Renault next season. It should be fun, although it remains to be seen if anyone can one day be mentioned in the same breath as Michael Schumacher. |

I honestly don't see anyone ever being mentioned in the same breath as Schumacher. I think the sport will need to change to survive/grow. I love the cars and the tracks, but the lack of passing really deters it from being tv friendly. If my boy Juan Pablo Montoya does well in NASCAR (yuck) and a high level driver exodus begins, the sport will suffer greatly. _________________ Stop crying and start doing.

After basketball, it is the NFL for me then college football. I hate baseball and I don't really care for college basketball too much.
NFL- Bengals (Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson)
College Football- USC
Also like the Saints (Bush), Cardinals (Leinart, Warner, Larry Fitzgerald) and I always had a thing for the 49ers living is So Cal. I think Alex Smith will be a franchise player in the next 2 years. |
