My best friend thinks the same, and I don't agree. I didn't like the whole the good guy is the brother of the bad guy thing is a bit too obvious and overdone.

Yeah I do remember that exact code. I think it was for a Mortal Kombat game or street fighter.

You're thinking of A, B, A, C, A, B, B, A, I believe it was.

It's up up down down left right left right b a [select] start.

This started with the Nintendo game GRADIUS and it moved on to Contra and I don't know how many other games.

In any case, the best SPORTS game ever made for any console is the Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution Soccer series.

It's quite possibly the best video game ever made, as well.

remember the mario bros "tricks"?

Jumping on the turtle, coming down the steps, for multiple lives...I never knew what those little symbols meant..

the skating trick, when he popped out of the pipe..

the small fireball shooter, where you let koopa kill you(touch you) while simoultaneously tocuhing the axe across the bridge...

and remember always trying to jump over the flag pole.?

Anyone ever play "City of Villains" or "City of Heroes" for the PC?

I'm hooked.

Also, anyone know when we can reserve a PS3?

Oh yeah!

Or finding that level that never ends (level 0) from level 1-2.

Has anyone ever had Koopa follow you into the room with the princess/toad? You let him get super close, then hit the axe before he touches you and he will follow you. Except the screen goes to the next level before he gets his slow arss over to you guys.

Good times. That free life trick was the best. I can still hear in my head what it sounded like to get that jump timed right. You had to be careful not to overdo it though, or you'd get too many lives, and your game would be over the next time you died. Classic. You'd be like, "Hey, look how many guys I have. Q6. I wonder if that's more than u5." That game rocked.

By the way, did anybody ever REALLY jump over the flagpole? Everytime it looked like I was gonna clear it, I didn't. I always heard something cool happened, but none of my friends could ever prove it.

I remember my own code. Always use to tell my brother and friends that if you jump in the black hole you get an extra life. They never did get an extra one and it was my turn to play

My older brother used to trick me with that one all the time. It was very sad for me.

I cleared it a couple times. Nothing happened. You simply had to go and jump on it from the other side before you could score.

Favorite game now: Gears of War
Favorite game ever: Can't say. It's like music. You can't really have a favorite song because the mood you are in will sway you towards different genres. You almost have to do the same with games.

RPG: SW Knights of the Old Republic
Action Adventure: Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Fighting: SF II
Shooter: Perfect Dark
Sports: Winning Eleven

Was Mario 2 the one that was a dream at the end? The one where he "fought" a giant toad or something, not Bowser?

And 3 was the one where he could get a raccoon tail and fly? Damn, I need to get my SNES out and play it again.

yup..the one where luigi had that funky long jump

growing up piss broke, I had to borrow or rent my games. So after recyling all my cans, Id go to the local video store and for about 2 bucks I'd go for hours trying to get to the next "boss"

Remember the NES blow on the cartride thing?
Game ended up with more spit than anything else..I also rember moving the cornes of the cartridge trying to wedge it further in

other games:
double dragon
ninja gaiden(nes)
CONTRA!!!!!!! up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b,a,b,a,selct, start

You must have had friends
/refering to the "select" start

My current favorite game is Resident Evil 4. I've been playing it damn near non-stop since I got it almost a year ago. Even when I get new games I usually end up going back to RE4.

I can't wait for RE5.

You whippersnappers and your theories.

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A is the Konami Code. It first appeared in Gradius, was made popular by Contra, and works in a huge number of Konami games. Also, some other companies ripped it off and used it in their games as well.

Before I was a teenager, I thought I'd eventually outgrow video games. I think my parents wished I would too. Guess what. NOPE!
