It's great because it's based off the Hong Kong movie, Infernal Affairs. This movie was a trilogy in the HK version. If they did it right, the Departed should be 3 parts.
I'm excited to see how the Hollywood A actors do with the movie. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |

THIS MOVIE IS CRAZY ! I saw it last night. I already think it's my favorite movie of all time (maybe behind Momento). The actors are brilliant, and it's got a bad @$$ ending. |

For the most part, it stayed true to the original IA film. It was good. Scorcese's "twist" at the end, awesome. DiCaprio should win an Oscar for this. Anything less would be a travesty. _________________ NBA referees are a detriment to the integrity and essence of the game of basketball. Two big time Laker fans in this movie. Leonardo DiCaprio, and of course, the great Jack Nicholson. And I think Wahlberg and Damon are Celtics fans, being native Bostonians and all. _________________ NBA referees are a detriment to the integrity and essence of the game of basketball. Hey y'all. For those who enjoyed The Departed, check out Infernal Affairs from Hong Kong. It's a trilogy, with my favorite behind part 2. It's available via Netflix. Enjoy. _________________ RIP mamba |

Yup...saw it too. That movie was almost perfect. Expect to see something you've never seen before in cinematography history. I used to think Leonardo was just an average actor. But he should win some awards for this one. |

Looking forward to seeing this one, too.
For those raving about the script, it was written by William Monaghan, the same guy that wrote "Kingdom of heaven," the Crusades-era epic that came out last year with Orlando Bloom, Liam Neeson, David Thewlis and Jeremy Irons.
Watch the Director's Curt of that one on DVD in the blue and gray box -- not the theatrical cut with Orlando on the cover in a gold-orange-colored box. The Director's Cut of KoH was also an incredibly well-made story with political intrigue and complex characters. GREAT freaking movie. Certainly superior to the theatrical version in every way.

I agree, he was the only weak link. But fortunately he played the exact role he always plays, so he didn't screw it up. I think this was a breakthrough movie for Leonardo. But Mark Wahlberg completely kicked ass in this movie. Also probably his best role ever. I may have to see this again. |

Don't forget Siu Fai Mak and Felix Chong. They're the guys who wrote the screenplay for Infernal Affairs and also wrote the script for The Departed. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |
