Aircraft Hits Building in Manhattan
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

NEW YORK (AP) -- A small plane crashed into a high-rise on Manhattan's Upper East Side, police said Wednesday. There was no immediate word on any deaths or injuries.

A column of gray smoke rose over the city, and raging flames could be seen in four windows on two upper floors.

And that it's the 11th.

Just heard that the plane was registered to a pitcher on the Yanks, Cory Lidle. It has not been confirmed if he was on board or not.

They are reporting (NY CBS) that a NY Yankee was onthe plane... but have not given the name yet.

According to the NY Times, Cory Lidle was on the plane...

Very sad...

Talk about weird coincidences: 10-11-06 backwards and inverted is 09-11-01.

That should have been Raja Bell inside that plane.

As much as I hate Raja as a player I wouldn't wish that on him, or anybody.

Condolences to the Lidle family. RIP Cory.

As sad as Lidle's death is, this needs to be said: AN AIRPLANE IS NOT A TOY!

He lived in Southern California. The Yankees had another player pass away in a plane crash. Thurman Munson was killed in a plane crash 27 years ago. Munson was one of the better catchers in MLB at the time.

Sorry, I don't wish Raja was in that plane instead. I just wish Raja was the one hit by that plane instead of that poor building.
