The tables will be turned from the 1968 World Series. This time, it will be the Cards taking out the Tigers. No Lolich or Gibson, but instead it will be Pujols and Carpenter.

The crazy thing is, I didn't even realize the game was on last night. Who is playing again?

I would of loved to have seen the Dodgers and Yankees.
Ratings would have been through the roof.

I am a Mets fan living in Detroit. I would have loved seeing the Mets against Detroit.

So for now I will root for Detroit and see what sort of burning of cars and general rioting will occur.

Cardinals win game 3, 5-0 and take a 2-1 series lead. Absolutely masterful performance by Carpenter. 3 hits in 8 shutout innings.

well, the cards are up 2-1 and Suppan is pitching next. So it doesnt really matter. I predicted the tigers in 5 before the series. Shame on me....big time.

It seems to be more the Tigers pattern to fade at the end.

i guess that rest for the tigers turned into rust. They're underestimating the cards. I'm withdrawing my prediction. Cards have this series

Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals and their fans.

Somewhere Tommy Herr, Jack Clark, Vince Coleman, Lonnie Smith, Willie McGee, Terry Pendleton, Tommy Hendrick, Darrell Porter, Tito Landrum, Cesar Cedeño and others are smiling and partying and celebrating the Cardinals win. Congratulations.

Nice to see a couple of SoCals, Jeff Weaver and Jim Edmonds win a title.

I have just watch the craziest thing ever... Watching Jeff Weaver who has sat in my living room (he and my ex-husband are close friends) has a World Series ring! I am so proud of him right now! It has been great to watch someone you have known since high school win something he sooo deserves!

Good job Jeff!!!! Atleast I can say I knew you when!

Congrats to the Red Birds. Only team that wasn't the Dodgers that I wouldn't have mind to win the whole thing. I'm very happy that Jeff Weaver and Jim Edmonds got those rings.

Congrats St. Louis. Congrats, JD. I was gonna pull for anyone from the NL to win this thing, even the Pads or the Mets.

Quadruple A my arse.
