Resistance: Fall of Man isn't up-to-par for Next-Gen. I've watched a few reviews from various websites, and they all say basically the same thing, "Best game on PS3, but graphically not what you'd expect from a next-gen game. But it does serve it's purpose."
Resistance will be fun and all, but it's not Gears. Simply isn't.
PS3 isn't gonna have any real exclusives. Assassin's Creed and Grand Theft Auto, and others have been already mentioned as being on both systems. Then, you have the real PS3 pushers, the series that have basically been reason enough to buy PS2, such as Devil May Cry and Metal Gear Solid have been said to likely be also on 360 at some point.
I was wanting a PS3, but just don't see the point at this time. There are no real games worth having, IMO, that are exclusive. And sorry, but Resistance: Fall of Man just isn't enough for me. It looks like just your typical FPS. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. I know quite a few people who are teetering on getting a PS3 or an Xbox 360. One of the determining factors for them since so many titles are cross-platform are new exclusive games.
It's kind of funny at e3.. quite a few people I know were crucifying MS and GoW saying that the computer renders and the console version won't be anything alike. Yet in the same breath they thought the PS3 w/ Resistance would be as good or better than the computer render previews. I guess i'm just surprised that it's actually the other way around.
I'm sure the gameplay is great on Resistance as reported in the multiple reviews...but on the same note there was just so much hype that Sony and PS3 pushers surrounded the game w/ (halo killer, true definition of next gen, goty, etc) I just feel like a sucker for actually *gulp* believing some of it.
Forreal, I was considering PS3 after seeing the E3 preview for Resistance. I can't believe I really believed that it would look that good, when that's Sony's MO.
And yes, wretches are annoying.
Kryll scare the hell out of me. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Then, to do 'dat on 'da offensive end. It's like 'Damn, I can't score on him AND he about to bust my ass."
Nice find JD! Now my friends won't have an excuse not to get one.
In response to TheRod's question regarding the game on PS3.. the answer is no. It's an Xbox 360 exclusive. PS3 has Fall:Resistance of Man as their first exclusive title. Sony is hoping it will be the "Halo Killer".
There's already reviews from Japan regarding the game, here's one:
Review of Fall: Resistance of Man
This review has actual in-game screen shots, not the usual computer renders that have flooded the internet. There's also a short clip on the second page.
I don't want to knock it since I haven't tried it .. but the screens don't impress me as much w/ all the hype surrounding the game
Then again I've been spoiled:
Screens of Gears of War
Just a word of warning. I haven't experienced this yet (since I haven't managed to play through the training area) but I've heard many stories about GoW causing problems once you reach the end of the game. Many people have said that the ending sequence causes a disc read error and then the game keeps getting the same disc read error over and over after that. So uh, don't beat the game. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks
I went to pick up Gears of War at target and they were selling for 59.99 with a free 10.00 target gift card (rebate) at the register
So I picked up Games CD (DA) for 9.99...

Same here, but I have to still get GoW and a memory card to save the games.
Where did you get GoW? Any particular website or did you just pay the normal price?
I got it off ebay with the game. I got the 20gb so i dont need the memory card. It did cost more than $100 though.... _________________ Go Lakers

GOW online is sweet! I get my butt whooped since I tend to jump into LIVE without "practicing" first
Tag name is Turbulent...If anyone wants to join up(halo2 or GOW)
How much is the X-Box Live? Is it worth it?
$7 bucks a month, like $50 for a full year. Definitely worth it. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. not sure if this sale is still u but I saw a 53 " Panasonic 720 HDTV rearprojection for $999
Is the online multiplayer only 4 player? That's what I heard, if that's true, that sucks. I was expecting it to be like Halo 2 where you can get 8 vs 8 games goin' on. I was thinking of buying GoW but that little fact might make me change my mind. You guys with the game, can you break down the online gameplay?

I got a 60" Sony HD 1080p and GoW is incredible on it. I just turn off the lights, turn up the surround sound and kick some ass. Those ugly ass monsters make some weird sounds in the background.
