The story answered my question.
Quote: | "Nothing will persuade us to change the name of the San Francisco 49ers, one of the most storied brands in the world of sports," he said. |
I should really learn how to read.
And my other question answered as well:
Quote: | The San Francisco 49ers ended negotiations with the city about building a new stadium Wednesday and have turned their focus to the Bay Area suburb of Santa Clara. |
Jeez, it was the first sentence of the story!
Maybe I am slow cause I got pulled over this morning because my windows are tinted too darkly. How idiotic! _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

Man, I live right next to Santa Clara right now and I hope the 49ers don't move down here because:
1) They are an SF institution
2) I hate them
3) They will absolutely kill an already murderous traffic situation, even on Sundays
Santa Clara is about 40 miles or so from SF, but when you factor in traffic you're talking probably an average of about an hour and 15 minutes with little traffic and you can double that if there's a lot going on.
It seems lame for them to keep calling themselves the SF 49ers if they train and play in Santa Clara though, which is completely different culturally from SF. It is kinda sad though. While Candlestick is horrible (cold, windy, in a terrible location from a transportation standpoint), it is historic and in a beautiful spot. |

Good point on the cash side of things. Hopefully Santa Clara uses some of those $$$ to address the 237/880 interchange . Took me forever to get to Oracle Arena the other day. I'm hoping the work they've already done on the 880 near fremont will help things... |

Would you settle for the Santa Clara 49ers of San Fransisco? |
