They also beat Duke. This one turned out to be fairly close at the end. UNC made a big run to scare VT.

Duke was ranked #5 when VT beat them and currently ranked #11. How weak could they be? UNC was ranked #1, so VT managed to beat the two top ranked teams in the ACC.
