|
|
This is probably very outdated, but I figured I would ask anyways.
I used to have an NES and SNES, but then went the way of Playstation and PS2 for the past ten+ years. Now, my gf found an old Nintendo 64 system in her parents' basement. Since I have been out of the loop about Nintendo for such a long time, I thought I would ask you guys what are good games I could get for this system when I go look at used games at the store.
I know I will look for any Zelda games available, and perhaps some Mario games, but is there anything else out there that would be good to look at if I happen to come across it?
Thanks. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

Donkey Kong 64
Mario Kart 64
GoldenEye 007
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Pilotwings 64 (if you feel the need to break a few controllers)
Banjo-Kazooie
Blast Corps
As you said, both of the Zelda games plus Super Mario 64 is a good choice.
If you like wrestling games, Wrestlemania 2000 is one of the best ever made. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

Whatever you do, you gotta go with Goldeneye 007, the best game on N64 by far. _________________ That was Noiceeeee |

Wow, Goldeneye sounds good. I think the gf had this game and is in with the rest of the console. I will have to check it out when I have time. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

Goldeneye remains one of the greatest games of all time. revolutionized first person shooters.
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire is a LOT of fun and this is coming from someone who hates most star wars games.
Mario Kart 64 may be some of the most fun you can have gaming.
Super Mario 64 took the sidescroll away from the mario franchise and it rules.
i'm looking forward to downloading some of these games on my Wii virtual console. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

Goldeneye ROCKS. Even my wife, who hates shooter games, had fun with it. One of the best games to play with others, and pretty easy to use.
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and Star Wars: Racing (i.e. Pod Racing) were also a LOT of fun.

Both the Zeldas alone make owning a 64 worth it.
Other essentials: Smash Brothers, Mario World, Goldeneye, NFL Blitz, Mario Kart _________________ bonerkillcollective.tumblr.com - peep our art. |

Unfortunately, no Goldeneye on the VC. The only Rare games you'll be able to get on the VC are the ones made with Nintendo properties (which basically means Donkey/Diddy Kong games and that's it) since Microsoft bought Rare. So no Goldeneye, no Perfect Dark, no Blast Corps in the Wii. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

Microsoft "Oh you want to use goldeneye? Ok then let us use Mario 64 on xbox live arcade".
IMO both Wii and 360 should be able to use goldeneye on there online thing. Then I can buy goldeneye for the xbox live arcade and play it online most likely since they probably would add that feature.
I use to own all my friends in Goldeneye. |

Multiplayer online Goldeneye would rule. Playing it multiplayer was already cool, but everyone having their own full screen would be even better. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

Zelda OOT might be the best game ever for any system, but for me those Mario Kart games I never really liked they were ok I guess. |

360 games:
Far Cry, GoW, and NBA 2K7.
Make sure to get XBox Live, if you do, you should be set for the next 2 months. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat.
