Sure, for the vet min.
Wonder if he'd wait long enough to push through a trade or if we'd need to waive someone. |

even if it were true, i'd imagine eddie would probably prefer to go back to the heat than come to the lakers... |

agreed - if Lakers do end up making a move that opens up a roster spot; I would mind having Eddie back to finish up his career (hopefully with a ring).
Here's my question though- there was another player that the Grizzlies had on their roster in the summer that might be a better fit - how's Laron Profit doing nowadays? |

Eddie would be a steal. Hell he hit 2 huge shots against Utah the other night that won them the game.
Imagine going big with Kobe, Eddie, Evans, Odom, and Andrew. You could switch almost every position defensively.

sad but quite possible...
oh, and if he does end up "ron harper part 2" then that would mean we win a couple rings - not bad at all... |

They gonna waive Eddie after scoring 19 points and hitting the game winner against the Jazz?! Come back to L.A., Eddie! |

i think he will go back to the heat.
imo its either heat or lakers w/the heat being the front runners.
also isnt he from miami? _________________ "I wish I could draw a picture of the look on their faces..... For a time, it was like he was on the court by himself. It's like God put Kobe here for us to watch him play basketball." - LO On KB8's Performance Against the Clips 07/01/06 |

I thought Eddie is from Philly. Anyway he won't go back to the Heat. Shaq hates Eddie and traded him to another team twice. |

No way he goes back to Miami. The two teams I could see having interest is PHX and San Antonio. |

Eddie is from Philly if I remember correctly. Also, why would he want to play with Shaq again? As someone else pointed out, Eddie has played with Shaq twice and has gotten traded from Shaq's team twice... |

If he's available after the deadline, it might be worth a shot, but not before. |

If he goes to Phoenix, they might buyout Jalen Rose to make room for him. Anyone for Jalen once again? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

would phoenix really have that much of a need for him? would he be able to play at their pace?
and aren't the spurs trying to get younger?
wouldn't be surprised to see him back in miami (shaq aside) - it's familiar, he steps right into their system, sees immediate playing time...
hope the lakers pick him up though...replace fellow alum mckie... |

I'd rather pick up Brent Barry!
Supposedly he and that Udrih guy are available.
No thanks on E.J.

agreed, but also because I doubt we want to waive any of our expiring contracts that might be an asset in a potential deal. As for Profit, I wonder if there's really a space for him on the team considering Mo Evans' great play. Profit did well for us, but I don't think he was anywhere near the player Evans is now. _________________ -

EJ!!!! YES! I would love to have Jonesy back on the team. I hated that Rice trade becuase Rice did not play D. Even at his age, Jones is still an excellent defender, he would be very very useful for us because of that.
We get killed on perimeter D, Jones is a savy vet, he would help a lot. Plus the Tri does not need a real PG, a Jones-Kobe back court would be FANTASTIC! 2 tall guards like Phil likes. I am actually really really stoked, Eddie would be PERFECT. Much better for us than Kidd because he won't have a massive contract.
Then we have Farmar & Smush to play some minutes to keep him fresh for the playoffs. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Profit would not get many minutes considering how well Evans has been playing. Jones on the other hand could start at guard along side Kobe. He is still a great defender and would not have to play major minutes because we have Smush & Farmar to spell him. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |
