I like Nick's game. The very few games I watched, I saw him penetrate, post and shoot below the arc. I like him. I don't know about his attitude, not that it matters....

Nice report Mike, thanks for doing it. What type of role do you see Nick Young having if he somehow fell to the lakers? Do you look for him to be given the ball and asked to create or have others create for him while he moves w/out the ball? I guess what i am trying to ask is how well would he fit in the triangle.

Complimentary wing to Bryant. Goodrich to Jerry West.

He does need to be given the ball, but not every possession. He can create for himself but only at a 2nd or 3rd option level.

He's a triangle fit.

So what you saying Mike? He's a young laron profit? (meaning Laron as a laker minus the age)

EVER? lets think back 2 seasons ago. profit was kobe lite-1. are you trying to tell me. That Toooday, Young could step in and be what profit was for the lakers 2 seasons ago, right now fresh out of college? THIS year? if so we need to be trading someone to get a higher pick to be safe.

Ever.

Profit was a 2nd round player that looked like a great compliment to Bryant, but jeez, he never was a 12ppg scorer at any time in his career.

I know he wasn't a 12ppg scorer. we wouldn't allow him to play that much. or maybe we would have if he would've remained healthy and finally learned the offense thru and thru. he could've taken lukes spot at SF or slid kobe to sf and moved to starting at SG. off of defense alone. he could pass well enough.
But okay you said Ever. and you're saying TODAY. So if thats the case. forget making Kobe happy. thats stupid to me anyway. you try to put together a winning team. if you can't put one together for today. you start putting one together for tomorrow. simple. if kobe dont like it. bye bye, we'll see you when its time to hang up your jersey. and we'll get some guys in return. so now. Lets say KG deal is a no go FOr sure, the JO deal is still asking to much(I aint giving the pacers LO, period. i need JO+LO+kobe). So no JO.

Now its time for plan C(keep rebuilding for the future. If thats the case. either you package up the 19th pick+Kwame(expiring k), to get a higher pick. Or you keep that Pick and pray the man falls that low(which he probably will not if what you say is what everyone else believes.

most people really dont understand how much better we could be if our starting lineup included an athletic SF, that could defend vs Luke. not a knock on luke but its reality. all the big boys have some kind of jumping bean at the SF position. they usually use these guys to sick on kobe. Its about time we have a guy we can sick on their main gun. so kobe can finally safely play Free Safety. and conserve energy(if he's still around). Or just to have one of these athletic long SF's to compete with the current market of talent out there at this position. wy use the MLe on lets say petrius when you can have a younger version with more upside? and use that Mle on a PG.

I don't know if Young has Pippen's ball-handling ability, but one thing is for sure, Young can create his own shot and has tremendous athletic ability. He'd be a great backcourt mate with Kobe... I think if the Lakers are able to draft Young and sign Grant Hill, they'll be well on their way...

Young
Kobe
Hill
Odom
Bynum/Kwame

That team is 10x better than anything they put on the court this season.

Mike did you say young was a good defender? however I don't we why he can't be. Unfortunately MDa will emphasize his offense more.

Absolutely I did. USC system back then was based on former Bulls coach, if I remember correctly.

His D is based on offense and motivation. But, he can be a good man defender if he wants to.

He's an athlete, but I don't see him as being elite anymore. I think diet/conditioning is a big issue here.
