Yes!
We'd have the most athletic backcourt and still the biggest frontcourt in the League! Do it Phil! _________________ Lakers Gonna Lake |

If we don't acquire anyone from now until the beginning of the season, I'm not opposed to it. |

He could be better than Kobe, and Phil STILL won't start him. You KNOW that |

My vote was YES for some time the following season (2006) if we get AD.
Maybe the second half of the season if we don't get AD and have to settle for Lue.
Of course this assumes he continues to develop his game and impress as he has so far. _________________ Rule = win titles

Strong defense, fast athletic player. Lets put him in the weight room from the next few months and give him playing time. |

No, no, and no.
He's doing all this against weak competition. First let's see how well he plays in pre-season, and then see how he fares off the bench in the first month of the season before we start asking this question. |

I think he's the perfect spark off the bench with Smush. I'd let those 2 loose while Kobe is resting so that the offense production won't suffer. |

His game is exactly what the team needs. A quick athletic PG, that works hard on defense and shoots well from the perimter. I don't care what the level of competition is, if his man is used to double Kobe or Lamar, he can make them pay for it. I don't see AD having the same effect or anyone else they can get. |

No. Trust me, I'm a HUGE Wafer fan right now, but I wouldn't do it. His handles just aren't good enough to be a PG.
I would like to give him AT LEAST 15 mpg, preferably 20+ though, as Kobe's backup and also playing PG for brief stints at a time. |

If he keeps playing well in the SPL and can hold his own in preseason I say yes.
Unless the Lakers sign a good vet PG, who else is it going to be, Sasha ?? |

I don't think his handles would be a problem seeing that Odom and Kobe will bring the ball up the majority of the time. It's the question whether he can guard NBA level PGs. He would get open looks on offense playing with Kobe and Odom, that's for sure. |

ok i don't understand why people are soooo hyped about this guy right now, i mean yeah hes doing pretty good in spl but none of us really know how good he is, its pretty hard to transfer a guys' stats from spl to NBA when no one in the spl is really any good, i mean its like a kid who is just smashing people at the middle school level, then you throw him into the varsity team of a good highschool, that kid probably isn't going to be dominating like he did agains tthe middle schoolers, but after thats all said and donei hope this guy is awesome, but im not going to say if hes good or bad right now |

Wafer reminds me of a young Larry Hughes...
For those who don't remember, he wasn't nearly as polished as he is now but he was always a good defender...
If he can play good D, do some light ballhandling and hit open shots, I wouldn't have any problem with him learning on the job...especially if we don't land AD... |

In Chi town, Phil wouldn't even sign his 2nd rd picks. He'd rarely play the 1st rounders. It's his M.O.
He'll have to play this years picks though. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. |

NVE can't give you more than 20 mins a night and 50 games a year at this stage.
JALEN ROSE could be this team's saviour!!!
If not, then.......
1) Suns
2) Warriors
3) Kings
4) LAKERS
5) Clippers _________________ Lakers

I'd rather make sure Wafer does well off the bench and then start him rather than jumping the gun and just throwing him out there. We have all of training camp to continue evaluation. |

Earth to people who think Wafer shouldn't get minutes with or behind Kobe cause his handles are strong enough - in the tri Odom will be doing most of the ball-handling up the court, then Kobe.
Wafer's check off list:
Can he shoot - from all ranges?
Can he play D?
Can he dribble good enough to stay on the floor?
Was he a steal? _________________ "i was born down in the valley where the sun refused to shine, but i'm climbin' up to the highlands, goin' to make that mountain mine" ~ Lakers, 2011 |

Mitch did blow a draft pick on him because he was on no one else's radar thus we could picked him up as a rookie free agent.
Stupid Mitch, general managing is for smart folks! _________________ Lakers |
